Well I stand corrected. I've always thought football was dull and a yob's sport but I watched the cup final today and I thought it was fucking incredible entertainment. Congratulations to both teams for a spectacular game and to their fans who seemed to create a wonderful atmosphere.

I only started watching the coverage because I saw the excellent Ray Winstone on the box. I hope he's not too gutted that the Liverpool keeper "Mugged off" the West Ham penalty takers!

To be honest I expected to see Ian Rush up front, that's how long it's been since I paid attention to football. The keeper sure is the bollocks, I used the "Mugged off" term in keeping with Ray Winstone rather than a dig at the cat-like goalkeeper.

Who was that nutty goalkeeper Liverpool used to have? The one with the South African accent?

Great game. Just a shame that we never seem to get any real Cup upsets any more. The lucky breaks always seem to go the way of the "big" teams, so inevitably it's always gonna be your Liverpools, Chelseas, Man Us and Arsenals that are going to win in the end.

Cracking game! Just a shame the scousers had to win. Their mad keeper in the 80s was Bruce Grobelaar; his African accent came virtue of the fact that he was born in Zimbabwe.

Ah yes Bruce Grobelaar, I used to love his crazy runs half-way up the pitch. A fabulous character. Another footballer I had a fondness for was a guy called Ian Ormondroyd because of his great name. Whatever happened to him?

Oh and Cantona of course, I know he did the wrong thing when he assaulted that spectator and it caused a huge fuss but the look on that guy's face when he realised that Cantona was going to twat him was priceless.
