Life on Mars Final episode

Post by Ace »

VERY poor ending...........I get the impression that after the initial rave reviews, BBC decided to comission another series and hasily re-wrote the ending. What should have happened was Dad kills Sam who subsequently wakes up in 2006 knowing his dad was filth and not the hero he thought he was. What should have been a brilliant one-off series might now be ruined. Christ, they might as well get old Sweeney episodes and re-do the acting.

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

It was disappointing---particularly after the high standard of the previous shows. Still, it will be back.

And having a mum that looks like that would be rather disturbing!

It was a bit of a let down wasn't it? They seemed to ignore the whole "he might be in a coma in 2006" thing for the last ten minutes, which was weird.

But, an interview on Radio 4 with the writer/producer yesterday had him saying they hadn't looked beyond the first series while writing, and they'd already had a second series commisioned BEFORE this series had even been broadcast.

Glad he saved Annie from being killed though, I'm not sure I'd be tuning in for the second series if she wasn't in it.

It would have been better if the lady in the red dress WAS Sams mum who he subsequently saved from death before he gets killed leaving dad to run off and subsequently have his 2006 mum VERY anti-father because she got beaten and he'd killed a copper.
Oh, I sussed 'dad' was a Mr Big...........but was disappointed that John Lindsay wasn't represented with the cine made 8mm film !wink!

I was hoping he would go back to 2006, look up Annie and say "now do you believe me"

Shooting his own dad, (who was about to shoot Gene) would have made a nice twist at the end.
We have need of you again, great king.
