Anyone see this programme on Monday night. Very well done I thought and loads of things included that I didn't already know.
The bit that annoyed me though is when the BBC announced 'this programme contains strong language'.....erm, yes and graphic death images but they didn't feel the need to mention that. And they wonder why kids are stabbing each other to death? Many programmes remind you of the strong language and yet the images on screen are far worse!

Re: The Somme
although quite informative I didn't think it summed up the actual horror of it all
check out 'the last tommy' tonite on BBC1, some of the stories from the old boys really made you tingle about the reality, especially some of the 'point of death' stories

I did see it and it contained less violence than a lot of childrens programmes, most violent scene just showed them shoving a bayonet into a sandbag they should have showed it at a earlier time.

Er! you saw boys being shot in the head, yet we were warned of hearing the word 'fuck' being said, thats the point i'm trying to make. The censors are more worried about words than violence and yet violence is over running the British society today!
