did anyone tape it or see it,iwas watching xtras on dvd and forgot to put vhs tape in?

Don't know if you mean the movie Soldier Blue (1970) ... not seen it for a few years, but a good movie and better than most modern day offerings, only pity is the UK version is cut by the BBFC Nazis.

yes the 1970 one.there was a hit single in 71.

In fairness, the BBFC make very few cuts to 18-certificate (non-porn) films nowadays and many of those are due to the UK laws on animal cruelty.

The film was released on DVD in the UK this year but, as the BBFC web site states, the distributor made more cuts than were requested:

Classified 07 March, 2005 .

The BBFC requested 6 seconds of cuts to remove cruel horsefalls but the distributor made additional voluntary cuts of 22 seconds to remove an acceptable horsefall and part of a rape scene. These cuts were not required by the BBFC but were in line with cuts made to previous video releases.
"

Although the version shown on BBC2 was cut, there's no legal barrier to it being shown completely uncut on TV.
