One of my best mates is a copper and at one point his shift were so underfunded that they weren't allowed to put fuel in their Police cars as the budget wasn't there which made their jobs as Traffic cops a bit of a joke. The twist in the tale is that one of the reasons the budget was blown was because the hierarchy had bugged all the communal areas, lounges and changing rooms etc in the station with state of the art, expensive surveillance equipment to pick up on any of the cops making racist comments.

So the next time you have reason to call the Police and they take an age to arrive take solace in the fact that they won't be reciting Bernard Manning's repertoire in the near future.

I swear the above story, albeit hard to swallow, is genuine. Sickening isn't it?

When I went to Uni in my early - mid twenties, one of my lecturers was white south african. I was actually one of only two white people in her entire group, the rest about 15 were asain. That didn't stop her complaining one day about how she was horrified to leave Johannesburg because it was filling up with 'blacks' and how her new appartment in U.K also is full of blacks who 'rob everything'and her and her children are afraid
to go out. The funniest thing of all though was she really had no conceot whatsoever that there was anything in the slightest, wrong, unpleasant or even unfair in what she was saying. She was genuinely baffled as to why anyone took offence....totally different upbringing and culture to us.

There is a huge undercurrent of PC poncyness and middleclass noncyness out there in government, local government, the public services and the public media (private media too, if 'The Bill' is anything to go by - It's chock-a-block with PC ?ishooos?).
