Just to put my two penneth in, if you are talking greatest XI's of all time, I would have to submit the following:

Donald Bradman (shame about his duck)
Sunil Gavaskar (maybe be short, but you can't knock it)
Viv Richards (what can i say?)
Steve Waugh (boring but awesome)
Clive Lloyd (c) (finest cricketing strategist ever, makes Brearley look like a schoolboy)
Allan Lamb (on his day could smack the shit out of any bowler)
Sir Richard Hadlee (the most complete player to ever grace the game)
Michael Holding (just remember the oval in '76)
Dennis Lillee (only bowler I know to have ever bowled to 8 slips and a gulley)
Bob Taylor (for the purists)
Derek Underwood (just call me "deadly")

I dont reckon there is a team alive (or dead) that could beat this lot.

Decent player but a Test average of 36ish doesn't get him into my all time list.

I must admit it was a close call, but I always favour a good middle order slogger just to liven things up a bit, also an outstanding fielder.

It was between him and Richie Benaud, but Lambie pipped him as I thought with "Deadly" in the team, another spinner was superfluous.

Every team has to have one wild card!!!
