Absolutely!! And even if all of them are foreign, I bet they'll speak better English than Gerrard LOL
Gerrard seemed like a man with the weight of too many expectations on his shoulders, and as a consequence had one of his poorest seasons on the pitch. Maybe going to a club like Chelsea where the weight of expectations is heaped equally on ALL the players' shoulders he'll fare better.
I feel sorry for Jamie Carraghar, as he'll be the only local lad left in the team, and all the hopes of the Kop will be piled on him now.

Re: Steven Gerrard
And of course, Liverpool didn't want the 30 odd million they'd get for him at all did they?
I bet the club are the ones who are pissed off now he's staying.
Agents are like the asylum seekers or chavs of football aren't they? If you're a bit pissed off, just have a go at them, they'll make you feel much better about yourself. I think the term you're looking for is scapegoat.
He's the new Patrick Vieira
As an Arsenal fan of God knows how many years, I'm well used to Patrick Vieira fucking us about every summer, getting what he wants and then doing us the favour of staying. And all the time his performances drop away while he gets over the "trauma" of not getting his move...
So I suppose I wasn't too surprised when Gerrard had another Damascus-like conversion to the Scouse cause overnight.
Have you got your seats booked for next year's episode in the Gerrard soap opera? You can definitely see him doing the same thing next season.

Re: Steven Gerrard
So he's done his second u-turn in 13 months and if I'm honest then I don't know what to make of it.
Last summer Liverpool were in my opinion in a win win situation. If he stayed we won, if he left we got ?30m+ and won that way.
However this time if he's not fully committed to the club then I think it was probably best he left and moved on. He says he is committed but if so then how did we get to this situation in the first place.
I agree with ned in his post about Viera and I can see this happening all over again. The media will be full of it through the season as they were last and it's a saga that I and many like me have grown bored of.
If he's 100% committed then great but if not then it will rumble on and I for one don't think we've heard the last of this story.

Re: Steven Gerrard
Alot of the moving around by players has come from the Bosman ruling and all clubs in Europe have to abide by European Employment Laws.
Also agents are to blame. They are not the only reason but contribute to it on a major scale.

Totally agree with you. As I said in a previous post I don't think we've heard the last of this one.
I would expect Chelsea to end their interest in him now though. He has jilted them at the altar twice now and I would believe that they wouldn't give him a third chance to rub their noses in it.

Re: Steven Gerrard
Given they are on commission, of course agents are going to persuade players that it's "in your interest" to move.

They are also on commission every time a player re-negotiates a contract, so it's win/win for them!

You mean in "their" interests (the agent that is) to move.
