Come on dude on the buses is a classic just like Carry On and me old legend Sidney James and Babs the baps (oh matron). You must remember Tv was new back then and the shows were written by guys who hadn?t long finished beating the living shite out of the Hun.

Mind you having said that there is no excuse for The Last of the summer wine which causes me great discomfort and I can?t believe that anyone actually finds it funny. The Royal College of every thing not funny did a study on this show about 300 year ago when it were originally aired on Flintstone Tv. The result didn?t get finished because none of the researchers could watch a whole show!

Any show where greasy Reg and his slack-jawed, gap toothed scarecrow of a mate got off with new "birds" every night takes ridiculous humour beyond the pale.

As for Last Of The Summer Wine, even last man standing Peter Sallis can only stand to pop in for a few moments each episode to deliver his offbeat philosophy, leaving the hilarious going backwards down a hill skit for other actors to do.
