Very very sad news, only found out through this thread, great guy, and great taste, his interview with Roger Waters regarding "The Wall" Lp from 79 is classic, only heard him the other week on Planet rock as well, rest in peace Tommy in the great gig in the sky mate

Knew his rock music, I'll give him that, but should have ditched his trademark shades LONG AGO.
Last saw him on Hells Kitchen and he didn't last long.
Not in the same league as John Peel, but still worthy of a 'mention'

He was the Voice of Rock on the radio! RIP
Re: RIP Tommy Vance
That is sad news, I used to listen to him do the ' friday rock show' on radio 1 many years ago and listening to the music he played got me listening to a lot of different rock/metal bands. I met him briefly at the monsters of rock festival at castle donnington and he seemed a totaly genuine bloke who loved his music.

A great voice, never sounded stressed and a big sports car fan to boot. I learned there was more than chart music listening to TVs Friday Rock Show on Radio. Half of my album collection was bought on hearing tracks played by TV. RIP.
