Thats understandable...they started before you were born and aren't exactly what you'd call mainstream so get little or no air play(could be because of lyrics like-America is the Home of the Hypocrite) with about 4 exceptions
Interesting compilation,a hodge podge of styles...everything from the popular melodic tunes to some obscure live performances that defy description. You'll either like/hate the lead singers voice

Arrived 3.30 PM today just as I was walking in from Work

Your right American Idiot is a classic
The first album I've listened to without skipping songs

The arrangement of the songs is what makes this album a standout

One song moves into the next almost seemlessly

Their style is hard to describe....even when their loud & raw their still refined in their playing which makes each instrument stand out in spectacular fashion

The Greatist Hits is still to be heard as I replayed the above again & again

cheers

there's another group that are a little like Greenday called Third Eye Blind i first heard them when i was living in U.S.A back in 1998 and i have followed the group every since. To date they have 3 abulms out.

1) Third Eye Blind - Third Eye Blind.

2) Third Eye Blind - Blue.

3) Third Eye Blind - Out Of The Vein.

I've only ever heard their thoroughly over played single Semi-Charmed life
which the commercial radio stations killed once it had been broken in by the guys on alternative radio

on this Triple JJJ Top 100 Double CD from 1997 but once i heard the 'do do do' filler vocals in the song I switched off

I'm sure they're worth a listen judging by this single

Might listen to a few of their audio downloads once I've gotten Greendays American idiot out of my system

cheers

One of the best CD's of the last year ... Dookie is another good one from Green Day.

Another two excellent CD are Avril Lavigne's "Under My Skin" & "Let's Go"

It's rare to get a Cd you can listen to from beginning to end and all the tracks are good - but these are exceptions.

I think all the good (real) music these days is coming out of North America - all you get from the UK is boy bands, has-beens and never-should-have-beens.
