Another sweeping generalisation, Jay. Saying that women are more shallow than men is like claiming that they're not as good drivers, or not as intelligent---a statement agreed by many men, but with nothing to back it up. A lot of women are shallow, as are a lot of men. And if you want proof of how shallow we are, just look at all the products out aimed at our fear of going bald/grey.

The "thin" thread makes fun of Mandy Dingle, so it's not just women who are incapable of seeing past appearance.

As a salad dodger myself, I should be more aware of things, yet I find myself judging people on appearance rather than getting to know them first. It's part of life, sadly.

ah but I do have something to back it up - a lifetime of experiencing it plus do my little "test" next time u r out and about and see how the results stack up or next time you are in a pub or club have a look around and you will see lots of big girls dancing with blokes or snogging them or whatever but how many big blokes will you see in similar positions?

Im not claiming that men arent shallow cos they are - like I said all humans are shallow but I think that women are a lot more shallow than men.

Dude, I'm not coming at this from a business point of view.
I'm just an observor and I say what I see.
I know they are legal but it's the connotation involved.
You know when some nonce gets busted and sent to jail and all these macho men posture and gesticulate about how they'd do this or they'd do that and then go and buy Barely Legal Virgins Vol.69. or get their wives to dress up as schoolgirls.
It's the mentality that worries me.

Well I am not surprised, after the lectures I got off Holden about being one's self and having an opinion, and about judging people he is now making sweeping assumptions about teenagers, why spout all that you said about being ones self in the Opera topic yet you shoot yourself in the foot and insult what is a large part of society. To be honest Holden I thought you were a teenager, you seem to have a lot of angst that has not yet left you, you are angry at yourself Holden don't take it out on teenagers.

I was a pretty good teenage girl, I never got in hot water with the law and I never brought trouble to my Parents door, sure I had angst but being an adult now that angst has left me, strange its still prevelant in you Holden.

I suggest you listen to Classic FM Holden, they have soothing music you can relax to, take a deep breath and relax.
