I've got 12 Cat Skin hats
We love out cats downunder in OZ except when their roaming the countryside killing the native wildlife during the day and returning home at night for their warm bed
The truth is that testing on animals, usually Rats has been going on for decades if not centuries
Much that we take from granted uses this as its first means of safety
I personally draw the line at cosmetic products...unnecessary costly bilge which is unjustified testing/slaughtering animals to gain approval from the authorities for their YOUTH REJUVINATING products

true, we are always the final test which is why all drugs have to have human clinical trials before going on general release
i'm with you on the 'modern disease' of cancer, the bombardment of the body with everything from heavy metals to sex hormones is bound to eventually have a negative effect

if you close all the experimental labs down how do you propose we develop new drugs?

why are scientists maniacs?
I am truely amazed that anyone who is trying to develop drugs to cure cancer/alzheimers/asthma etc. and make a telling contribution to society can be vilified so much as to be called a maniac
At the present time there is no alternative to using animals in the final stages of testing as this is a global governmental requirement, Do you really believe that scientists test on animals for fun!! if there was an alternative it would be used as the simple facts are (if you want to bring it down to money) are that animal testing is the most expensive way.
It's much cheaper to use computer modelling and in vitro methods, but at the moment these methods cannot be used in isolation

Nothing like a healthy campaign of cat-culling. The bloody things were introduced here and imagine the effect on native birds, many of which were ground nesting. Before Man arrived in NZ there were no predatory mammals.

Forgot to add
I'm all for Lab testing on feral cats
Can't imagine too many scientists wishing to participate in this
cheers

Have you got your flameproof underwear on Deuce?
BTW, the tendency in NZ is to swerve if you see a possum on the road in front of your car. Swerve to make sure you run over it.

The Fire Retardant is within easy reach
I've nothing against keeping cats as pets but(as dog owners do)
If you can't keep them in your backyard you shouldn't have them
The wanton destruction that these Predators/Pets have on the enviroment is remarkable. For me they really are never truly tame like a Dog can be
Anyone that has seen a cat turn truly FERAL knows what I'm on about
The ferocity of a Feral cat when caught in a trap is truly a scary sight
cheers
