Has anyone seen this? is it any good? I've not really seen any of Moore's stuff, except that Bowling for Columbine, I thought today of all days would be a perfect day to watch it, as I just got the DVD

I've had it for just over a month but haven't managed to watch it yet as every other bastard has been borrowing it.
I'll do it during the week.

I've seen it (at the cinema.) It's excellent. Two hours of education you will remember. Warning- this film may make you extremely angry.
Bowling For Columbine also excellent. Worth watching for Marilyn Manson's surprisingly incisive comments alone.

Definitely. Only in America could a film be considered controversial for telling the truth!
Sad thing is, we're all going the same way.
Join the resistance and see this film- serious. You'll never look at Britney Spears in the same light ever again. (If anyone's seen the movie they'll know why. Evil bitch.)

I love the cover on my dvd, with Moore shaking Bush's hand and the headline, Controversy? what controversy?

Re: Farenheit 9/11
Having seen Bowling For Columbine and read his 2 books, I had expectations for Moore's Farenheit 9/11, and I wasn't disappointed.
The impact a film like this has on the masses can be no bad thing, I feel the majority of people need a "wake-up call". I can see where the critisisms of the movie come from, Moore is a wee bit one-sided and heavy-handed, yet the facts speak for themselves.
Bush is a piss-taking idiot in-over-his-head, and the whole business is as twisted and corrupt as it could possibly be.
The crux of the film for me was the pointing out of the use of fear against people, and the Orwellian connotations. This is so real and so true, and it's not just in America.
The manipulation of the law, and peoples rights was also a point made well.
When assessing the impact of this film, it is important for me to remember that most people survive on a diet of mainstream news and piss-poor newspapers, and as such will not be used to questioning such major issues, never mind the realsation that the whole fabric of society, and that on which they base their beliefs, is so disgustingly corrupt.
Even here in the UK, the decisions and acts of the Bush government have cost me dearly this year, and that's with something that's completely legal and above-board.
As for Britney Spears being an evil bitch, I wouldn't go that far. She's just an airhead, who has probably never read a book, like many of her pop-tart contemporaries, and when asked serious questions only give a "party-line" answer. Her whole world revolves around vacuous issues, she can hardly be expected to hold a serious view on Bush, never mind have the brains to answer such questions. Millionaire popstar of the last 6 years she may be, but she's just an eye-candy idiot cheerleader, who's thoughts won't go beyond contrived dance-routines, make-up and sucking cock.
