Frankly, I find many of them pretty pathetic. Either an adolescent wish to shock their parents or the result of bad education and/or Dyslexia.

The Scissor Fits.

Great name that, as you can imagine it was an unknown punk outfit circa 1980... I won a single of theirs at a fair in 1981 called "The Government Knows About UFO's"

I always liked Pink Floyd as a name, it's suitably vibey and it just rolls off the tongue.

Nashville Pussy, Mangled Clit and Satan's Penis (a couple of Lemmy's fav metal bands) all American. So no suprises there then.

Names mean didley squat

Its all about the music

You can have all your clever titles & attitude to back it up but if the music stinks then its a waste of space

Spandau ballet epitomise this IMO...dressed and made up to kill backed up by stock standard bland safe music...I've always wondered what happened after To Cut a Long Story Short....musically everything after it was light years away...record companies don't stifle artists....MY ASS they don't
