I agree F1 is boring and very predictable unless you follow the winners
Something radical needs to be introduced
Have 2 races(equal to the current distance)per meet instead of one
run on seperate days with the grid reversed for the second race
All the big names starting from the back of the grid
cheers

Re: dear Mr. Lizard -.
I should of course just have written that a cobbler means a shoemaker
Steve is talking cobblers because he needs new shoes,as he himself admitted..

Quite interesting to see a heated debate about the merits of particular motorsport teams.
I guess it's not just footy fans who get raged up about sport.
Formula 1? Quite good if you like watching cars go round and round and roundzzzz....
Spray oil on the track before every race, make Scumi wear a blindfold, get Murray Walker to drive - just something to make it in some way interesting.

I think you will find this is called a rally , retired "struck Camel" would be a common result in the Paris Dhakar . There is a mind boggling motorcycle competition on this rally , with it's own legends. The truck rally formalised the situation existing between the support teams . Rallying is LOT more exciting to the unitiated than F1.
Re driving round in circles , you either get it or you don't this post uncannily echos James Hunts comments when he decided to retire . This was a typical floppy haired English Public Schoolboy ex World Chamion thing to do . I remain hooked by it , and am still learning , an example of this sort of driver , but a competent one would be Emerson Fittipaldi still fascinated by , and driving well on Ovals retiring when he was 50 ( about, u can google it) and running his own CART team now .

Ride Yamaha , support Rossi !

Dude!
While F1 fans might get a bit enthusiastic from time to time (Particularly the Italians!) I've never seen any bother at a GP. Mind you some of the chants could translate, we could sing "Are you Minardi in disguise?" at the pathetic McClaren team or how about "David Coulthard...what a wanker, what a wanker."
The real reason you'll never see any bother at a GP though is because it's only Ferrari who have any fans!

That, and the fact that most beer-swilling ne'er do wells baulk at the extortionate entry fees!
