Not a particularly bad cover, but shameful behaviour from Ronan Keating, who "forgot" to correct the interviewer who introduced him as the writer of "When you say nothing at all"
We have need of you again, great king.

I may be wrong but I think you'll find that Seals & Croft wrote Summer Breeze so it's the Isley Bros who in fact have done the cover version ( excellent as it is ). I think most of todays lot doing covers of great old 60's, 70's & 80's songs are all awful. So how about changing your post to best cover versions - I nominate Like A Rolling Stone by The Rolling Stones as the best.

Apologies again re Seals And Crofts, but their original is but a pale shadow of the Isleys' version.

As for slagging off William Shatner, how could you? Just because you are not sufficiently evolved to appreciate his revolutionary musical stylings.

If his "acting" didn't merit him a place in the halls of the immortals, his version of Mr Tambourine Man would.

First Celine Dion, now Michael Bolton. This is a joke right? To say those two have shit voices. That just doesn't make sense. Apart from Steve Perry who as the lead singer of Journey wrote and performed Open Arms, subsequently murdered by the aforementioned Ms Carey, Michael Bolton has got the best voice on the planet. All right I grant you he's shit now, but his early stuff rocked big time. As to cover versions, I was backstage at his Wembly concert in 1990 and i told him I thought his version of Dock of the Bay was far superior to the Otis Redding version, ditto When a man loves a Woman. Is this not true? Listen to them back to back without prejudice, at least the Percy Sledge cover is in tune. The original was recorded in a garage and there was problems with the very basic recording equipment, so the only take they had of the big brass crescendo right at the end was completely out of tune. Check it out, it's cringable. As a bonus the MB version has a fantastic drum fill before the modulation. Lovely.
