Stiff Little Fingers

Post by Cornish Chris »

Just returned from an amazing gig in Exeter.
SLF are still awesome..all the old classics Alternative Ulster, Suspect Device,
Tin Soldiers, Nobodies Heros ect.
The new stuff went down well as well particularly Strummerville a tribute to Joe Strummer (Ace get a ticket for either on the next 3 remaining dates Portsmouth, Brighton, London).
Great to see ex Jam bassist Bruce Foxton looking and playing so well, Jake Burns still rocks...funny most of the audience were fellow old punks all pogoing like fuck until the pacemakers nearly cut in.
T-shirts in generous XXL sizes...Cornish Chris is a happy man...now I gotta get to sleep with my ears ringing.
Catch em if you can you won't regret it.

Cheers CC.

Yes, SLF have an excellent tribute to Joe.
A 'better than average' punk band. Funny you mentioned OAP punks pogo-ing, When I saw Strummer on the last (sic) tour, we were all moshing when he played the old Clash numbers

The West London of my youth is now on dvd

I've met the man on the street............and he's a cunt

Hi Guys...Just about recovered.
it was really funny to see all us 30/40 year olds acting like teenagers and pogoing & moshing for all our worth..wicked.
Steve..no they didn't play Law & Order or Gotta Getaway but it was certainly a greatest hits set list with 2 encores.
I think Fergal Sharkey is appointed by the government to promote the grass roots live music scene.

If last nights performance was anything to go by he's doing a great job.

J.J Burnel- The Stranglers
Peter Hook-Joy Division/New Order
Ian Kilminster (Lemmy)-Motorhead

But Agree Bruce Foxton takes some beating.
