Heroism

Post by Pervert »

Public-spirited behaviour that cost a man his life at the hands of career criminals. Also a lesson to those who hit out at the Asian community in this country. Just an ordinary family man doing what he thought was right. I hope the "send them all back" brigade take note.

As for the armed robbers, I hope they get life.

Nice to see a positive story for a change.

it's only a pity that they're probably both too old and ugly to end up with their rectums wrecked in the showers, by Big Bubba.
Not that I'm vengeful, or anything: naturally, I deplore such notions of 'secondary punishment'...............

If the crooks were shot, it'd likely be the hero up in court. Yes, the criminal element in this country can get hold of guns, but making them accessible to the public at large would just increase the number of gun-related deaths, and that's something I, for one, don't want.

Oh, no you don't: a relatively rare occurrence, as this still is in the UK, does not justify you using it as a platform for advocating widespread public gun-ownership.

Justifiably.

That's what the police are for- if they're not cutting it, change the police.

Only the ones you say are OK, eh? And don't legally-owned guns kill people in the States, then- only illegal ones?

Self defence over here usually means learning karate or judo or some other martial art, something that requires a certain amount of discipline and control, rather than just pointing at someone and pulling a trigger. There definitely seems to be some deep-rooted paranoia in some Americans---that millions of people, foreign and in their own country, are gunning just for them. And as for the not trusting the government argument, well, we don't trust ours either; but that doesn't mean we need guns to protect ourselves from it.

......and a state where the public are also armed is.....anarchy.
Heinlein was a survivalist, posing as a writer of (often rather good) sci-fi.

Moral responsibility? From the likes of Cleetus, and George Bush?
Don't make me laugh.........
