LOL ive never heard that rumour Deuce, although now youve said it its stirred some old comment someone once said before I was into the album properly... I think to answer with what I know - if its true then it wouldve been Erin Everly , Axls then girlfriend and love. As opposed to some random girl...Lets face it, it could be true (or one of the others) or might just be another overdub. Nice idea though isnt it :D

Goes against the grain if it was the girlfriend

Rock stars are meant to be doing Groupies not girlfriends then again it was the eighties when Image was more important than music

Like most Images they're all bollocks when the truth is told

So was the version of you're crazy the GNR LIES one?

If it is your welcome to my copy email at buttsie458869@yahoo.co.uk if you want it

Haven't played it 10+ years

cheers

aw well Droogy doesnt believe in that whole rock stars thing and is pretty gratful its dead BUT I know what you are saying, like I always say GNR looked v. 80s but they were v. forward thinking.

I think for me the greatest rock n roll cliche/story/ideal is the kinda long term girlfriend-been together since we were kids-struggled together-worked our way to success-and stayed together thing....a la Sebasian Bach. I love that one, and actually theres a lot of musicians with childhood sweethearts just no one talks about it.

Back to the issue - Axl threatened to shoot himself if Erin didnt marry him didnt he ...she was Don Everlys daughter or summat but alas it wasnt meant to be incidently shes the one Sweet Child o Mine is about so if it goes against the grain well...so be it :D

I managed to download a Lies version of You're Crazy off Kazaa Lite, thanks for offering though = I think thats what you were offering? lol

fan GNR song? mines Rocket Queen, kick ass 3 chord riff near the end

Rocket Queens is the one song that stands out

Can't pick a favourite...they're all good

Interesting start & finish compared to the frantic pace in rest of the other songs

Think you're right about Axl.....Love who needs it....nothing worse than being shot down in flames

Its like the popstars that are married off stage but single on
Playing to their market I guess

I was offering the whole GNR LIES CD actually

I've taped the songs of it that I like and the CD is never used
As I said 10 years +...played once and put away

cheers

ohhh I see thats very generous of you! Wouldnt it be a bit unfair to send it half way around the world unless I could send you something?
Would love to hear it properly though as ive got all the other main albums theyve done :) Thank you

Who are marreid offstage but single onstage or is that the whole point - we arent aware? thats verrrry sad to me id never shut up about it if it was me :D
aw im detecting a bit of deuce has been "shot down in flames"...

Axl is a strange one ive concluded. I think hes actually a nice guy somewhere in there...people forget he had an incredibly severe childhood including parental rape, abandonment, etc and he hasnt sought any help for it and thus has become really violent and ego-centric. I once read a lot of interviews from 1987-1993 time and a lot of the things he said were very endearing....talking about giving money to the homeless and charity, how he feared for his gfriends' sons safety etc...shame things look to have worked out bad for him.

No not unfair...to be honest I haven't bought anything musically for years and as I don't listen to the radio much i never get the urge to buy 'That Song'.....I take the view i've had my moneys worth out of it......and I'm in the middle of downsizing all my existing CDs/records/singles/books/videos

Who hasn't been 'Shot Down in Flames' (Top Ac/Dc song by the way)
Thats par for the course with women
Plenty of fish in the sea as they say they just all seem to look like Gropers
(the ones I've had to shoot down that is)
When I'm a beggar I might not be so choosy....lol

Its all the record companies building the artists up as single and available
when the truth is totally different-pure marketing in many cases

The music industry is littered with people self imploding
As they say Nice Boys don't play rock n roll-very true

Can only imagine being idolised must be one hell of an ego trip to a young person who's not had the best upbringing and lacks a real family structure to keep them grounded

cheers
