Streetcore - Joe Strummer

Post by Ace »

Anyone who likes their music, I ask you to get a copy of Joes final work, Streetcore which is released on Monday 20th October. I got my copy on Thursday as I know someone within his band. It is a remarkable piece, all the more poignant as they only had a few rough demo's of Joes songs and had to work around them. Early reviews do rave about this as Joe was one of the very few who not only talked it, but walked it too, like Johnny Cash and not like some slag who THINKS he's cool but acts a twat like Bono

Redemption Song on Streetcore is a Strummer only version. However, Long Shadow is right out of the Johnny Cash mould. If you get Joe's 1999 album, 'Rock, Art and the X-Ray Style', there is a song called 'Road to Rock n Roll' that Johnny did record. I find Strummers version far superior
