It's not the virus that worries me.....
It's the overwhelming number of emails that it has generated. It's just non-stop

Magoo, I presume we're talking about the same Spybot.
According to McAfee, what was on the laptop was W32.Spybot.Worm - the way we got rid of it was to do a restore back to before the last date that McAfee was updated and then bring virus scan completely up to date.
The machine still keeps crashing however and I keep getting pop-ups appearing which didn't before!!
