Poppy Morgan is EVERYWHERE !!

The news coverage Poppy has been getting in the last day or two about how she's been featured in the brochure promoting Hull as the UK City of Culture has been touched upon in the other thread on here. But I didn't realise just how much coverage she has got! If you go to Google and enter the words "poppy morgan city of culture" many many links appear to articles about her in the press over the last couple of days.

She's got a half page feature in today's Daily Mirror, The Sun, The Hull Daily Mail, The Courier, The Yorkshire Post, and on prominent news websites including: web orange, anorak, onenewspage, ticklepress, newsdump, worldnewstoday, muckrack, newsuk24, daytodaynews, newsfroll, interceder, newsfiber, pressdisplay, mojim.com, my-rss.co.uk, headlinegrabber, football365, newsnow, realtime, streamica, and others!

All these have articles, prominent articles, just about Poppy - but she is also mentioned in a feature in the Financial Times! As I said, go to Google, copy and paste ' poppy morgan city of culture ' and pages of stuff appear, all with links to the articles. Once you've seen the first page of listings on Google, go to page 2 and see more, then page 3 and so on...

This might be the most coverage a porn star has got at any one time in the UK media EVER! Wow! I wouldn't be surprised if she was featured on the local TV news for that part of the country last night, or might be tonight.

It's no more than she deserves, she worked hard, we put everything into our business which often effected our personal lives as it does with many couples within the industry. No one actually sees what goes into building a name and the stress and sacrifice that that involves. Poppy deserves her place as a UK porn icon along with other UK porn actresses that have made a lasting mark on the industry.
This is truly a great day, for Poppy and for myself...ONLY WE know what it took to get to this day......get the F*ck in there!!!! (as Poppy would say)

As well as the Hull City of Culture brochure I think there is a book called something like "People From Hull" that Poppy appears in. What interests me is how so many editors and journalists in mainstream magazines and newspapers know about Poppy's porn career.

It's a news agency story thats been circulated around and picked up by many outlets because it contains the word 'porn'.

It probably came from the agency I used to work for. I've launched several of these things in the past. Newspapers love a good porn story.

I suppose the story is launched by one central media agency, then countless others pick up on the story and run with it. Much of the coverage in one media source is similar to what appears in the others, so it suggests most are just copying the story. A certain amount of the detail about Poppy in all these press reports has been taken from her Wikipedia page - about how she used to be a chef and was approached by someone outside the restaurant, whilst she was on a cigarette break, and asked if she ever considered being a model.

Someone has updated her Wikipedia page in the last day with this: "In December 2013 Morgan received extensive coverage in the British press for her role in Hull's successful bid to be the 2017 UK City of Culture."

The coverage from daytodaynews.com is quite funny. There are a lot of translation errors! We learn, among other things, that Poppy is an "ex- amateur cook"!

Yes, it called 'churnalism'. As most news outlets are severely cash strapped they cant afford to employ 'journalists' but instead simply fill their pages with press releases and agency copy.
