I'm quite a frequent visitor to Northern Ireland at the moment. NI is by no means a dump - the North Antrim coast and much of County Down ranks as some of the best scenery I have seen anywhere. The towns of Bangor, Hillsborough and Newcastle are quite beautiful. Newcastle in particular has a breathtaking sight with the Mourne Mountains sweeping right down to the sea there.

Ulster does have its dumps though: parts of Belfast and quite a bit of Londonderry but there are numerous others. Most of the large towns (with the exception of Bangor in County Down) aren't too clever.

I quite like the accent though myself. I'm back in NI in just under three weeks' time.
