I keep getting told that I'm crazy not having my own paysite...I've always avoided it as I can't really see how it could ever pay as well as shooting content for other people, given the amount of stuff out there already.
I,m toying with a few ideas though. Can I have feedback..on what you guys would be interested in seeing?
I am not interested in shooting hard stuff...all the following would be nude , probably up to a maximum of Femjoy level, with the emphasise on good photography and cracking models.
All the ideas below would feature exclussive shoots new/unpublished models or models doing nude/open-leg for the first time
1. Simple high gloss glamour in my normal style featuring new models.
2. Vintage erotica style images, think Mayfair/Penthouse 70's style, soft focus with a bit of a bush down below..
3. A classy mature site. Elegant mature ladies (26 - 40 age group) in cocktail dresses/ top end lingerie, killer heels etc
4. A behind the scenes documentary style site. Getting models impressions/feelings on their first nude shoot, following them through the whole process with footage of their shoot.
Would any of you pay money for this?

Re: Question for soft porn fans
I think there is mileage in soft porn like MetArt and Onle Tease but the thing with this is that being new to it you will struggle for a long while and the key to success is to getting brad new girls. Thats the only way you will stand out but it will still be a struggle but if you can persevere you may see some results down the line.
The other thing is the internet is so awash with all kinds of porn now and you may have missed the gold rush but witout knowing your work i could very well be wrong.
Its a big gamble this porn / glamour stuff so good luck...The idea you suggest was going to be done by another tog who has been based in the biz since the 70's (not at liberty to say who)
yes I think people will pay money for the site you suggest but will it be enough to be worthwhile?

One Eyed Jack...Just to reply to your post about being "new to it"...not sure who you are...but going by the list of url's, presumably you are a webmaster or producer?
I'm not one to blow my own trumpet or "boast" about what I've done....
But...going by the amount of "fan mail" I get, its seems I do have a fairly strong fan base and almost certainly in the last few years have been published more in Europe and the USA than any other UK photographer.
Not counted how many sets I've sold, but at last year alone I probably sold
somewhere in the region of 1500 sets/video clips, about half of those would have been of first time models.
So, yes I do have access to the models......
But really my point is...is it worth my while bothering with a site, I make a decent living as it is...would my own site add to it...or just be a waste of time and money?

Your work is of a quality that the content would be better than most sites in the niche's you mention, definitely as far as British sites go.
But ultimately it's about knowing how to get the traffic to the sites and the general webmaster duties. I'm not sure how much knowledge you have of those kind of things, and if you have none or not much it is obviously something that can be learned, but until you have learnt them you may find the sites are going very slowly, to the point where you are thinking it's not worth it.
If you have the patience to stick that out, then long term I definitely think you can have successful sites just because of the quality of your work.

Re: Question for soft porn fans
Hi Morph, thanks a lot for the input.
I guess you probably have hit the nail on the head and highlighted my main fear. I am not very computer or web savvy and dont have the essential skills you mention and I'm not really motivated to get them. Also, I have absolutely no patience! and hate spending time in front of a computer...
I would really need an excellent webmaster and tech guy/girl to do all that stuff for me.

Well if you do go ahead with the ideas and need a webmaster, then maybe we can work something out.

Re: Question for soft porn fans
Maybe a way to go would be on a 50/50 share basis with someone who has the skills and know how to build a site.
Re: Question for soft porn fans
Hey Iain, would love to talk with you about this, I've been looking into developing a more mainstream glamour site. I've got a great domain name for it and have been working in adult websites since 97 so will shoot you an email when I get a chance (Valentines day and all lol)
Re: Question for soft porn fans
Sorry matey, but, as an ardent admirer of "birds getting shagged all ways"
I wouldn't even look at soft porn, let alone buy it.
Sorry, but I'm a degenerate.

Re: Question for soft porn fans
Hi Iain, going by what you've said you have nothing to lose by at least trying if you already make money from your sets. Everyhting else is just gravy
Make like Nike and just do it! !happy!
