@planeterotica: Sasha Grey's casting in 'The Girlfriend Experience' is more of a gimmick on the part of Steven Soderbergh its director. Possibly an attempt to be seen as 'edgy' and regain some of the credibility he lost with the tripe that was the 'Ocean's sequels and a return to his earlier 'Sex Lies and Videotapes' era.
Traci Lords also tried to break into the mainstream but couldn't get escape her earlier notoriety and is now languishing in 'b movies'.
Its a decision that few girls consider when entering the industry and one they really should given the digital age were in.

Of course our very own Hannah Harper is now trying to make the transition in Hollywood from porn to mainstream films, and so of course is Ben Dover who is probably responcible for getting a lot of girls into porn but is now trying to break from the adult industry himself, its a funny old world !wink!

Why does it sound like you are either surprised or cynical (I cant tell which) that people who have done porn should cross over to the main stream?

Why on earth not?

Most of LA were failed movie stars who found they could make a jolly good living partying and using their looks to make a living.

Why should they not have a moments realisation when they are older and think about crossing over before it all goes south.

Traci Lords is exactly where she is because she is not particularly a great actress. Not because of her porn career. In fact without her porn career she probably wouldnt have made it to the level of where she is now.

She is working and thats all an actor can hope for.

I am not being cynical Terry and in fact i think its great that people from the adult industry are attempting to go mainstream and why shouldnt they, why shouldnt a person not use some of the money they have earned from porn to pay for acting lessons and maybe go on to greater things, and hopefully more people will be doing this !wink!
