Apart from Ben Dover and Marino productions which are always great. I think the amateur "feel" that makes these producers films so good and several years ago included Rude Brittania and a few others is disappearing fast. Whereas USA dvd's were once glitsy and predictable I think the position has changed dramatically. The best British dvd's around now are compliations of older productions - most of the new stuff is poor

yeah I think that is another problem with the Brit industry, a lot of it still seems to be stuck in the carry on style of oo er missus I dropped me trousers sense of humour.

I think an honourable mention should go to Cathy Barry for her diaries series, which is a a bit less carry on and a bit more evil angel (although it still has its cheesy moments) but what keeps me coming back for more is the intensity and passion of it all, plus the fact that its hot girls and hot studs, no fat knackered old men and "I dont want to be here" female perfomers.

I definately think with the retirement of Omar and Marino and co getting older there is definately an opening for a new British Rocco like stud to breathe new life into the Brit industry though.

Well I think there are potential contenders for the crown with the likes of Keni, Marlon, Jay Romer and Keiran Le and Danny Mountain flying the flag for the UK

Even Rocco had to start from somewhere and wasnt an overnight smash when he started. he served his apprenticeship under the tutelage of John Stagliano...Then there is always Jazz Duro even if he is working abroad mostly these days.

Thing is it depends if the UK can hang onto our talent but its hard to beat the regular work, big bucks, sunshine and constant stream of fit chicks getting off the bus allure of LA...Still we aint doing bad. there is something quintesentially british about british porn that you may not like but then a lot of people do...Including the americans it seems.

Thats from my perspective anyway.

If British porn is naff it is no more or less in comparison to the naffness ratio of any other country.

One of Rocco's very early scenes way back in 86 or 87 was actually with me and the gorgeous Marilyn Jess for Gabriel Pontello in Paris. I have never ever seen the scene so no idea what happened to it.

I agree Terry, Americans & Europeans love British films glossy/ Amateur simply because it is what it says on the tin. Things will perk up again but we have seen a lot of producers go under because of the urge to make that perfect film, in the present situation with this credit crunch most producers are hanging in by the skin of their teeth & thinking about hollywood like feature films are the last thing on their mind.
We would rather & our customers also would rather us turn out 15-20 (real not false like some American) Amateur films a year instead of a couple of glossy films & how would we fill our web-sites which funds most of us in the first place.
Companies with backers have deep pockets but in the real world most of us walk before we run and sometimes we have a little jog in between when things are flush but thats not too often these days.
British porn is still great & even though the economy is as it is we still churn out everything & anything between us UK producers, stars will be tempted to go abroad for more money so let them as there are plenty more ready to fill their slot (Tom Jones & Beckham left for better wages so why not them).
If we all changed our styles to suit the latest fashions we would lose what we had in the first place & that would muck up things big time.
