Women tend to prefer something 'aspirational' rather than the kind of chap they wake-up next to. Why do you think Clooney and Pitt are so popular ? You could argue the same is equally true of men .... this is where fantasy comes into play.

It is, however, fairly well documented that given the right circumstances men will 'do' anything with a pulse. This is not true of women so there's an argument that their standards are higher and you need to 'raise the bar' accordingly.

I disagree with you here.

Unless you are an established company it is highly unlikely that you are going to break into the major bracket with the top girls and top guys in porn. Besides that's been done at infinitum.

The growth in porn is in the niche markets such as older guys with younger women, fem dom, girls with strap ons etc etc. Sure you are restricting your market but that's what specialist markets are aren't they?

Couples porn isn't a developing market. It's been around for quite a while as the big US companies like Vivid, Wicked, Metro and Digital Playground have been making couples films for years. It sells well over there but not so well in Europe.

If you are new or small sized porn production house and try to go into the top end of porn or the couples market then the odds are that you won't succeed. But if you find a niche area and do it well then you've got a chance.
