Joe, I'm not saying there isn't a softcore market.
What am saying is that....

A) The lack of hardcore talent.
B) Who's bright idea was it to film softcore only?

This is how I get my softcore footage.

1) I book a hardcore boy-girl shoot.

2) I film the hardcore almost until time to drop a load on the girl's face.

3) We spend 10 extra minutes getting our softcore angles and positions, with the bodies in tight to hide the penitration.

4) We do a F.I.P. (Fake internal pop shot)

5) Then we do the real money shot.

6) Grab last stills and go home.

And believe it or not this is how everyone does it. Not just the blokes in L.A. I film in France, Korea, and Moscow. We all pretty much do it the same. But like the driving out here, it appears you guys want to be on the other side of the road.

As for Derek and L.A. Direct Models...
Derick is NOT an agent. He is a manager.
Better results and more involved.
If you book a girl with him, unless there is a natural disaster, the girl will get to set on time and ready to go.

But you will pay for this assurance. Last I heard Derick is charging $200 per girl per day. And he takes 10%-20% from the girl plus a fee for giving them accomodaitions.

By contrast...
An agent is just a catalog of potential girls. There are no guarantees that anything will happen when you book through them.

Could you please tell me what scenes of the 50 or so that I shoot and edit each month, are shot by Scorpion? Unless you know something about my business Joe that I don't.. Don Roobles shoots for two of our sites/DVD's schedules and Scorpion performs and will be fronting one of the up and coming sites.. I edit them all and shoot the at least 40 of the 50 scenes, monthly...
These are the facts.
I don't know Kelly Steele but from what Sahara tells me she is straight, concise and knows what she wants, gets on with the job and shoots from the hip.. Nothing wrong with that in my book.
We work to a similar philosophy.
But having briefly read this thread, Kelly Steele seems to be stating some hard, porn industry truths, about content style..
I assume that she is shooting for a "real commercial purpose" and with that in mind knows that this business requires, fast turnover of fresh, mainly hard content..
If I took a batch of soft solo scenes to Playhouse, they would look at me as if I had lost my mind.. If I took any more than one month to produce a minimum of 3 DVD's for Kilergram, they simply wouldn't support or invest in the brand. So that's why I've upped it to 6 DVD's month..
Ofcourse every content style has a place but the consumer is king and the adult market will simply reflect the desire of the punter/surfer and active producers will supply the goods.
To finish off, our company (that?s Anjali's and my company) have always functioned by keeping ourselves to ourselves and keeping busy.. Mr Scorpion, stick to the facts fella and please don't engage in any unnecessary chit-chat and let's just stick to the task in hand....

I'm many people in one person. It's very rare that I work in front of the camera these days but when I do it's Kel. I'm bubbly, warm, friendly and playful.

Usually when some prefaces a statement with the, 'Not to...with..." line, that's exactly what you intend to do, and you're no different. BTW...it's "Fernando."

Porn people are extremely prone to hyperbole when the talk skirts the "facts & figures." Usually it's money, but this one runs out every now and then.

1. 50-100 films made every year in SFV would be 50 * 52 =2600, or 100 * 52 = 5200. That's a big gap so go near the middle and say 3,500. Since the average studio put out an average of 25-30 films a year, you'd need to have upwards of 150 producers working around the clock, year round to make that quota. Example: 2005 Red Light District put out around 25 vids, Elegant Angel did around 30, these being two of the more productive gonzo stables in Porn Valley. Studios with contract whores put out even less (Vivid, Wicked, etc).

2. That would be a tremendous burden on the physical infrastructure of SFV, are there enough rented homes and abandoned warehouses in Northridge to shoot all that smut? 100 vids a day means at least 300 or more whores, some having to do two scenes a day, not to mention at least 200 or so stunt cock, 100 makeup artists...agents running around putting out fires, pesky porn bloggers, the trade rag. I'm just not tasting your Kool-Aid here, babe.

3. Agreed, this doesn't take into account the little "boutique" studios like Astrux or NinnWorx which make only a few high-quality flesh vids, but it also ignores the many studios which have gone broke (JKP, Vertigo/American Hardcore, Extreme 1.0, Rain, Rob Spallone's biz, etc, etc).
