Tom and Dan G, I agree and Tom has put his points across quite rightly but lets not forget, just because a specific genre is doing well doesnt really mean its good because it reaches a wider audience.

The strength in the companies you've mentioned lies in its distribution. So in theory even a dire boring film can out sell a successful gonzo title because it is deemed more acceptable to mainstream tastes.

To cut it short can anyone name a really good movie that the sex scenes were as torrid and the acting was consistent and convincing that actually compelled you to watch it without fast forwarding to the good (sex) bits?

Every time I've seen a feature, the actors look like they are reading off autocues.

In other words i've never seen a feature i found engaging enough not to fast forward and watch 5 minutes of sex that followed from 15- 20 minutes of plot driven boring dialogue.

As for porn movie spin offs- dont get me started....I'll take microwave/ pot noodle porn over features any day...at least I can crack one out quick sharp and go about my daily business than to endure some pretentious so called master piece of a feature...and feel less guilty because what I joffed off to was "art" and therefore "classy".

All I'm asking is to name some good porn feature movies:

Sorry I dont rate Pirates...I saw a clip from that and made up my mind which way it was going with its typical "porno" acting. production values may add but do not a good porn film make when it compromises the quality of sex action involved...usually plain, standard fixed angles, nothing pulsepounding about it.

Ok here goes: Who can reccomend a damn good porn feature film? Deep Throat?....Yawn...Overrated in my opinion. Only a classic because of the era it was filmed in. I can name one: The Fashionistas...Because it has enough hard sex to keep you interested...Nothing else comes closer in my opinion but then maybe thats reflective of my tastes.

I wont deny that features and porn with stories do have their place as I think it would be trrible if everything was gonzo. Al I'm saying is that somepeople who feel they are re-iventing the wheel with the pron medium may have great ideas but no experience or know how to pull it off...Though I'm sure their intentions were sincere at the time.

Gonzo only came about because Porn Consumers were bored stupid with story line Porn

Private & Vivid might be the best selling but their not on my list of quality Porn Makers. Robotic is how I would best describe the bulk of their films after having sat through hundreds of them. Thank god for the fast forward button

I can only speak for myself but when either story line or gonzo is done well its virtually the same simple formula putting aside obvious production value debate

Good build up establishing sexual tension followed by believable Sex
with performers who are professional enough to look like their in it for the sex and not the money

Far too often storyline porn forgets its about the sex and not the story

I'd doubt any porn producer no matter how intuned he/she is with the female market will ever compete against the erotic offerings(softcore porn as some like to call it)Hollywood keeps pumping out

Maybe if a Porn Producer could buy the right to the Mills & Boon name
then you'd have women of the world(daughters, mothers, grand mothers) beating down your door ;-)

cheers

As for making porn for women...Sod that! You'd make more money out of gay films...There would never be enough women who would buy porn to make it worth while...Not compared to men anyway.

Men are horny bastards and lets face it men made porn for men because men make the biggest part of the porn buying market.

If people want to talk about couples, i bet you'd find it was still the bloke parting with the cash over the counter more oft than a woman.

Deuce you are so right. Gonzo is just an express version of a story based porn..."Once upon a time there was this fit girl who absolutely craved cocks...Now get your laughing gear round me chops luv"

Personally I fast forward through sex scenes as they are usually far too long.

I totally agree about Deep Throat.

Good porn features -

Diversions, UK, 1975, dir. Derek Ford
Sensations, 1975, mostly shot in Holland, dir. Lasse Braun
Josefine Mutzenbacher ... wie sie wirklich war 1. Teil, Germany, 1976, dir. Hans Billian
Parties fines, France, 1977, dir. G?rard Kiko?ne
Body Love, France, 1977, dir. Lasse Braun
Jouir!, France, 1978, dir. G?rard Kiko?ne
Couple cherche esclave sexuel, France, 1978, dir. Patrick Aubin
Easy, USA, 1978, dir. Anthony Spinelli

Dans la chaleur de St. Tropez, France, 1981, dir. G?rard Kiko?ne
Curse of the Catwoman, USA, 1991, dir. John Leslie
and many more, but none after about 1991 except for some Mario Salieri and Marc Dorcel films, though I haven't seen Fashionistas.

Hmm, interesting way you worded that, Tel. Just remove ?deemed? and then try it.

?To cut it short can anyone name a really good movie that the sex scenes were as torrid and the acting was consistent and convincing that actually compelled you to watch it without fast forwarding to the good (sex) bits??

Yes, what about ?

Vista Valley PTA,

Taboo,

The Budding Of Brie

- to name but three. From a cinematic plot and production values point of view these movies look like any other mainstream B movie of the 70?s or 80?s. In fact, while watching them I kept expecting ?Kojack? or ?Jim Rockford? to turn up in the very next scene. Of course there?s no triple anal bukkake or AMT cream pie specials going down. But hey, that?s why I like ?em. Because all that kinda stuff is a load of knob-wilting, superfluous, ball bag (except to contemporary porno producers, it seems). Instead, what we have here are credible sexual scenarios with credible characters having real life sex (and what could be more stimulating to ordinary Joe?s than real life sex?) Another thing that makes these movies so wondrous is that there?s not a single chav bird in sight. All the women seem feminine and desirable.

While it?s true that great porn doesn?t necessarily have to have a plot, a plot provides focus. It is an essential part of building the sexual tension - that delicious expectation you feel coursing through the pit of your stomach when a sexual encounter seems imminent. If you don?t have that all you have are bland performers going through the mechanical, mind numbing, motions of humping. Hump, hump, hump. Yeah, yeah, yeah. There?s not even any point in saying that if producers carry on with this relentless, mechanical (some might believe ?hot?) humping, then punters will become desensitised ? because they already have.

Also, if producers are going to retain any sort of credibility they need to be providing much more than what ?Digital Dave? and ?Camcorder Keith? can provide with a one chip Samsung, a ropy chav bird, and a room at the Travelodge. Or else, what is the point? If we want stripped down porn why don?t we all just buy it down the pub or at the boot sale from Camcorder Keith? Why should we need professional producers, if Digital Dave down the boot sale can punt us a DVD of scrawny, chavy, Cheryl being mauled by his sleazy chortling pal, Camcorder Keith?

Regarding ?Pirates?. It?s a very impressive achievement for a porn film ? what with all the costumes, galleons and digital demons. Unfortunately, it doesn?t work as a porn film because the sex is crap and I didn?t fancy any of the performers. They (the birds) all look like scrawny chavs (beautifully make up chavs, but chavs none the less). In fact, in one of the DVD ?extras? that came in the package there was a clip of the leading ?lady? in a preview/trailer sort of deal. She looked straight into the camera and said ?Hey, big boy, wouldn?t you like to fuck me hard? I?m a real dirty slut? And I thought to myself ?Not in a million years. You dirty slut?.

Regarding ?Fashionistas' Tel. It had too much hard sex. So much so in fact that it all became a flesh coloured blur and made my knob wilt.

In reality everything is a story/situation based IMHO

Be it your basic, boy meets girl and gets it on,all the way up to boy flies girl to uranus to make a sperm donation

You end up with the same action just in different surrounds

All you need to create sexual tension is body language, chemistry
and half decent looking Totty thats well up for it

The one thing you don't need is bad acting or an over use of comedy
