Terry your aware of my views on 'movies' (or a certain one at least lol).

I think I am thinking wrong lol.

Porn with a story is (for me) just that. The 'acting' is done between the sex scenes.

As I said on the other thread I think there is room for both those with a story & gonzo types.

Those with with a story but filmed in the same manner as gonzo will be a complete failure (in my opinion)

Hey guys,

Caught your thread. We produce plot driven sex movies for a US company. It's a massive market and globally out performs gonzo by a long shot.

Many more avenues for it where gonzo would never be tolerated - as well as the big buck returns from airing on more 'mainstream channels'.

Females and couples seem to go for the plot driven stuff more than single guys.

Word is... gonzo has hit such extremes now, with little where else to go. There will be a return to plot driven porn as consumers become desensitised to 'pure fucking' at it's most raw, lets face it - you seen an handful of gonzo, you've seem em all.

Consumers will yearn for the 'erotic tension' of plot driven flicks - particularly considering the fact that female consumers of porn are an emerging market as porn becomes more available - bear in mind the fact gonzo is still way to unnacceptable viewing for most girls. They will want plot driven, less male orientated porn which satisfies thier emotional as well as physical needs. Drama does that, when done well.

I'm not talking about any of this 'pretending my kitchen is an office' UK shit either. If it is'nt done well with the best locations/costumes/props - forget it.

The biggest selling movies worldwide are still Private/Digital Playground/Vivid - check out the trailer for DP's "Pirates" on piratesxxx.com.
It sets better standards of production than many of the so-called 'hollywood porn' movies of the last few years.

My personal opinion is never to compare a porn movie to a hollywood movie (like even some of the porn studios do themselves) you just look a fool when your movie does'nt stand up. Better to try to be the best in your genre and create a production value tier system for the porn industry alone.

Thanks for articulating exactly what I was thinking, Tom....I couldn't agree with you more.

Gonzo has it's place, but it's microwave/Pot Noodle porn in my humble opinion...quick, immediate, and serves a purpose, but not particularly good when all is said and done.
