I think Officer Dibble has been down this path before and claimed as I agree with him on this case, people who know fuck all about the business assume this is one of those things that they think customers like, as if customers like porn because they want to see women being debased.

Essentially, your average man is a simple creature: he likes to see pretty girls having sex. The abusive stuff does set us back as an industry, especially when we have fought hard for legal and reputable recognition over the years. Its simply just a case of the few spoiling it for the rest but I have to defend it insofar, that porn is trying to cater to everybody. All I can advise is, if it ain't your cup of tea. Don't buy into it.

I really did not mean to stir up a hornets nest here......or offend any one in the business / industry.

I just find it alarming that the industry is going down this route and overlooking other more subtle, sexy, erotic styles.

I appreciate that many of the replies on this topic advise that they are catering for everyone's taste, although the amount of material of this type available would suggest otherwise and quite rightly, I can choose to or not to watch it....agreed.

A good question.You should check out some of the American material, if you really want to be shocked.
Unfortunately, there seems to be an on-going competition to see who can be "harder". In terms of the millions of guys out there who are potential consumers, porn is now made to appeal to a small number (still in their thousands) who enjoy seeing women humiliated and abused. I'd say the typical guy in the street has fantasies, of a georgeous sexy woman coming onto him, no strings attached.
However if you are a mysoginist porn producer, you cannot see or understand this concept. In your sad little world, women are all sluts and should be treated as such. In their twisted minds, the only good or "erotic" porn occurs when a woman is put through every possible act of degradation that their pathetic little brains can dream up.
The only role in which they grudgingly allow a woman to be empowered in, is when they are depicted as a fat dominatrix, with some guy licking their shoes or whatever.
In an artistic sense, I reckon porn is set in stone as the least imaginative art form. Check out almost every scene, they all adher to a rigid set of rules and the main rule is the male takes centre stage at the expense of the female. The images scream at you, "Hey you lot out there, look at what I'm going to fuck you poor sad smucks!"
In my opinion, the mysogonists rule the world of porn and erotica will slowly die out. It will be you who starts questioning yourself and asking, "Maybe it's me thats wierd for not enjoying seeing women abused!"

great post ... v well put together. I am not a lover at all of the harder stuf ...but there is a fun element in it as well..

As a producer you know what really goes on and how much is put on...admittidely seeing some of the harder stuff in the states theres nothing here that I have seen that is comparable (Thank goodness) but in question of empowerment i do agree but flip the coin on the otherside.

Is it not he women being empowered as well ...? they may seem to be getting flogged sensless but to a certain degree I feel that they are more in control...if they werent they wouldnt be there ...getting paid for the shoots and walking away whilst someone cleans the mess? totally agree about the average mans fantasies about getting the good looking girl walking down the street.
