Ah yes, the awful 'laddette culture'. A lot of other things have come about by this enlightened culture too - like sobbing, shrieking, paralytic, girls rolling around in town centre gutters of an evening. Like moronic chavy geezers trashing A & E departments and beating up the doctors and nurses that are trying to treat their drink related wounds. Not to mention cultural horrors like - 'Big Brother' and 'Celebrity Pop Tarts' etc.

I believe the converse to be true. There was always a very strong, vigorous, undercurrent of desire for porn. Much of the male public was gagging for it, but they just couldn?t quite seem to get it. The top shelf mags were leading them on. They were in a state of both arousement and frustration - like they were being led on by a metaphorical 'cock teaser'. And of course, as in real life cock teasing situations, when they did get ?a bit? they were all the more satisfied and appreciative of it. The market then wasn?t smaller, it was probably larger ? nowadays a lot of potential porn watchers are sated, bored and turned off by it ? it was just that porn consumption was much more private back then. No one wanted to admit to it, it was a deliciously secret vice. Indeed, it was taboo, and looking back, all the better for it.

Yes, there were far fewer girls ?doing it? but then again those who did do it were far more appealing and attractive to Joe Average than today's typical chavy laddette. Personally, I've always favoured quality over quantity.

Which brings us, again, to what is or isn't chav, and who is or isn't.
It's a trendy term used by all and sundry, originally to mock the underclass, which is fair game to me. However it now seems to extend to anyone who watches ITV, buys a paper that isn't a broadsheet, goes on a package holiday, has an evening out in a town centre and has a few, blah blah blah.
We can sneer at the majority of people and their sheeplike ways, but the term "Chav" is going to mean less and less if people start labelling everybody one... Are we talking about the underclass and their inbred ways or are we talking about the populist public??
And to make it more topical, is every bgafd actress with a tattoo, shaven haven or whatever a "chav". The way some of the forumites talk, they must disapprove of 95% of the shows/films made in the last 5 years, and also disapprove of 95% of the actresses.....

We should always take every opportunity to mock the naff and the crap. That is the way that, as a society, we can change attitudes and behaviour. Its uncomfortable having the finger pointed at you and derided, people tend to go out of their way to avoid that. The reason there is so much antisocial activity at the moment is that no one in government, local government, and serious journalism, is coming out and publicly branding those responsible, morons, scrubbers, losers, wankers, divs and knobheads - Yes, I know the Daily Mail leans in that direction, but no one takes it seriously because they think that is just the Mail's stage act.

Regarding the question of what is chaism. I think we should regard it more of a cultural phenomena than a clearly defined group of people. There are very many people whose appearance and manner just shriek hardcore chav. But there are many more who, like you say, might only subscribe to a few peripheral aspects of popular chav culture. But maybe we shouldn't get hung up on those differences? Maybe we should just say he or she looks like a chav, or is behaving like a chav?

Chavism and eroticism are chalk and cheese, they?re incompatible. I don't believe they can co-exist. I've already said that I haven?t really enjoyed any Brit porn flick since the turn of the millennium (indeed I find them hard work to sit through) and I've also already said that I've pretty much knocked erotic program making on the head because I just can't summon up any kind of interest or enthusiasm to work with chavy birds.

Yeah, we've all talked about going to Eastern Europe - even Terry's been. Yes! Some mighty fine looking women there too. Much agreed. Alas, we're not likely too have the types of models you adhere to for several factors, stemming from financial. It wouldnt matter if you paid British girls a lot more money because you would never have the market to recoup your investment. Next, the kind of Brit girl most people would love to see do porn wouldnt do it because she would be an FHM/ Maxim type model who would frown upon such a thing, even if it was classy porn and any other intermediates who aren't privileged to get this high up in the echelons of modelling would end up in the US of A frowning on what shit conditions she has to work with in the UK. Maybe we should all accept Britporn for what it really is then and just go over seas but then I feel there will always be a big enough appetite for Brits and "chav" type porn.

Mind you, hasnt there always been a thing for blokes (and girls) who fancy a bit of rough? I think we used to refer to them as "common as muck". Errrm actually I had an Oxbridge education (though not private
school). Don't think I have any homo/lesbian/pedo thoughts, but
