i wish people would stop knocking brit.porn. unitl the early nineties we,as a nation,didn't even have a 'porn industry.' yes,there were always magazine s but britsih produced films were virtually non-existant. it was so bad that even the legendary steve perry,i.e ben dover,was making fims abroad for private.it wasn't until john stagliano made 'an american buttman in london' and uncle b.dover started going it alone that things started to open up.so maybe we should stop and think about that some times.my second point is that bad/crap/unprofessional/run-of-the-mill/lack lust-re porn is made the world over,not just in britain. i'm not saying that it is all fantastic,there are some diabolically rubbish films being made here,(i won't name name's. we and they know who and what they are),but there are also some of the most fanstastic 'actresses',producers and directors in the world,YES I SAID IT..........THE WORLD over here.so please.........STOP SLAGGING OUR PORN OFF.

Yeah, we'll never turn out talent like that....I mean, we'll certainly never turn out talent like that bloke in Private's most recent super-production Cleopatra...forget his name now...it was something foreign sounding, like 'Steve Hooper' or something like that.

Also, Alicia Rhodes and Ashley and Angel Long might be popular over here because they're British, but let's be honest for a second....they'd never cut it in the States, would they?

3. The lack of top quality girls - there are some quality girls, but criminally underused

4. Too many average girls overused, time and time again

5. British girls seem to 'not care' and don't seem to have the same passion for the industry as their European counterparts

6. Poor production often amateurish

7. Lack of respect by some in the industry for the girls who are the 'main attraction'

8. Lack of British males, time and time again the same guys

European porn is the best IMO and American companies such as Evil Angel and Redlight District churn out some good quality.

There are some bad things in all countries, but feel we lack in quality girls in Britain

Of course, i generalise......we do have some quality girls BUT the likes of Alicia Rhodes etc's best work is in America

You've totally missed my point, the said Mr Hooper is indeed a talented fellow who deserved all the praise he gets. What that does not however is excuse every Tom Dick and Harry who've climbed on the Bandwagon, bought a Camcorder from Dixons and copied him time and time again, where is the originality in that.

Alicia Rhodes, Angel and Ashley Long - You have to ask yourself why the they have gone to work in the States if everything in the UK was any good. Perhaps they too got fed up of 'Joe Bloggs in Newport" part 357

I don't think Brit porn is bad at all. It has its bad points like everything else but IMO most Brit porn is actually pretty reasonable despite the odds being stacked against it. At least most of it seems designed to appeal to male and female alike, unlike a lot of misogynistic US and European porn.

I think perhaps the reason many decry it is simply that porn is used as escapism for many, and a foreign accent combined a different mood helps add a little bit of a different edge to a 20 minute wank.

If there is one area where UK porn has suffered, it's in terms of production values, but this is only due to more people being able to make it more cost effectively. As a result you've got a deluge of product which drives down prices etc etc.

I guess it's classic case of porn eating itself but I have a feeling whoever takes a risk and splashes out on a big budget production will find themselves in a minority of one and, as a result, clean up.

I was actually replying to EverHard's post, JP (check the 'lines' which denote what's a reply to what to see what I mean)....for what it's worth, I agree with what you had to say, I just think we shouldn't overlook that we do produce the talent occasionally (and class talent at that), just that we don't have the industry infrastructure over here to support/employ it as they do in the US and Europe unfortunately.

A more readily accessible (and less monopolised) product/marketplace would be a good start, but I'm not holding my breath having read that AITA post....
