No he hasn't. It was falsely reported that he retired from performing but he has denied this although he did go on to say that he expects to retire from performing in the next year or two and he expects to scale back starring in films between now and his retirement.

He went on to say that he had no intention of retiring from porn overall and that he would carry on as a director.

The films that he starred in when he was just a performer were/are for the most part first class. It's the ones he directed as well as starred in where the rough stuff comes into play but then as has been widely discussed on here before, porn has got alot stronger over the years.
