Absolutely but without the internet where would this business be - the only choice consumers would have would be high street sex shops where they used to pay ?50 a time plus had the embarassment factor to contend with as well.

Add to that the success of membership type sites and the money that that generates and the internet has helped this business enormously I think.

The good days are well gone now but we have to change with the times, when i first made films several years ago it wasn't for profit but to pass around swingers clubs etc or exchange with other couples. Only when companies started selling them & showing them in Birmingham,Leeds & Manchester cinemas i realised i might make some money but i'm still skint, i still live in my nice little council house & me & john are still very happy.
Making porn has got to be in the blood because it's not a quick road to riches as most might think, we enjoy the life & people we meet knowing we'll never be that big. We'll make films for the fun of it & not always to think could we sell it & thats our secret why we feel some people like them.
For the big Pro's of British porn surely soft core & educational films must make more as the outlets are far more numerous.
Brighton was good for us as it gave us a chance to meet the real stars of British porn who were very friendly & welcoming, porn will go on guys but you'll find things going softer than to the extreme like they do now.

Jay before the internet we had mail order, both soft and hard-core, a good well made video was 19.95 it had production value and lovey women in it we had 50,000 customers buying soft-core and loving it, no abuse no gagging no sticking cameras up peoples asses, punters were happy to wank to debbie ashbie's tits now they would want her dragged round the room in a dogs lead pissed on then gang-fucked,,,,,,thats the truth, reality TV has went mental, I recon we are close to girls dieing on set, how much does it take to bring on an asmaha attack or a gagging attack etc.

Most of the UK productions are doing their own thing and not trying to copy the Max/Skeeter stuff thank god but how long before it starts or has it.

I think the HC / SC argument is down to individual preferences but people want to see HC - look at all the comments and pressure about trying to get HC onto satellite and you get the general consensus of opinion. Most viewers just want good, honest hardcore porn - there are a minority who want the extremes like you mentioned but not many in the overall scheme of things I suspect. Also there was a post I made a few weeks ago about anal in general and one a few days ago about gaping holes and, again, the majority of people want to see normal vaginal sex etc and the very extremes.

Speaking from personal experience pre internet the only option I had for buying HC porn was a sex shop where they charged ?50 per VHS for US crap - in many cases they were copies and not even genuine product but that was all their was.

Mail order was always a problem for me as all you saw was an advert promising the earth but more often than not delivering softcore crap which had been advertised as hardcore or not sending product at all or taking weeks or months to send it. The advent of the internet (and forums such as this) means that punters can get other peoples experiences of companies and web sites etc before buying therefore making it more difficult (tho not impossible) for scams to occur - post internet people are a lot more savvy, you only have to look at the reduction in prices in sex shops now to see that.

Overall I think the internet is one best things to happen to porn and vice versa - the internet would not be what it is today if it wasnt for porn.
