Question for woodgnome

Post by Ben Jones »

Hi. Has the new 'Industry Forum' you were discussing a couple of weeks back been set up yet?

Thanks

And hopefully it won't.

As I said before I like the fact that fans and porn buyers like me can post and read posts from people who work in the industry.

It is informative for us. Sure the odd post may not be on topic but thats the same with every forum isn't it?

But why should having an industry forum affect that? Having a separate "industry only" forum, if we established one, does not mean that this forum then becomes only for non-industry.

Point taken and this topic was discussed at length previously.

I personally think that most industry people will only post in that section and some of the industry gossip that people like me like to see will diasappear from us lot.

Maybe I'm being a nosey git but it's what makes the forum for me.

It's only my opinion though.

I like the mix too, but I have to add that the "industry" input seems at the moment, to me, to overwhelm the viewing/paying punters points.

I don't know what the best balance is, but i do get a bit pissed off with what seems to be excessive advertising -

Yeah but thats my point.

The industry people will post on this forum with spam stuff and leave all the industry talk to there own forum.

As I said before maybe it's none of my business to lurk in on there conversations but I'm sure I'm not the only one who does this and in truth it's the reason why I keep coming back.

The original post said that you would welcome feedback.

The almost unanimous vote is against an industry forum, yet I feel one is inevitable. I think the decision is made and maybe the mods are a little surprised at how against an industry forum the undustry actually are!!!!

Maybe you should re-read the original post
as there was also a Promotional Forum mentioned-where all the Spam will go not here

cheers

Ok I stand corected on the promotional forum but my original feeling that people in the industry will post on their own forum and leave this forum still stands.

As I said before I may well be wrong. Only industry insiders know where they will post and not me.

However I believed this was a forum for fans and porn people together and in truth thats the beauty of it. I think that some (only a small %) industry people think that this forum is only for them which you can tell by the tone of their posts.

It's the fans/punters that sign up to the websites and buy the films and the more informed they are I believe the more chance they will buy. Indeed I have bought many Dvds in the last 12 months from info got from here who I hadn't heard of before. It wasn't the spam posts that got me to buy. It was from looking at the names/alias of those that post and finding out who they were over a period of time that persuaded me.
