It stinks to high heaven! It's sensible to ask for advice when you are not sure what is right for you.

Your question makes me worry for you, though. You shouldn't have got as far as wondering if the offer was legit. What if the next try-on isn't so obvious?

You need somebody to look after the business end of things for you. Either get a worldly-wise friend, or ask some of the performers on this forum to steer you towards a good agent.

I don't understand why everyone is moaning about this. Even Brad Pitt and Julia Roberts don't get paid for an audition, for fuck's sake. As long as it is stuff you are comfortable doing and you don't sign over any rights to use the audition footage/pictures, what's the problem? I have auditioned hundreds of people over the years (non-porn television work), including many household names, and I've never paid anyone a penny to audition, nor have they expected payment. Why is the porn industry seemingly so different?

Sarah-Louise has already said she wasn't paid for her great appearance in British Teeny Sluts 3.

The British Porn Industry clearly has a problem in paying and treating girls as well as Julia Roberts would expect to be treated.

This statement will not be popular with some decent producers but a few tossers are ruining it for all. Golostruda, given everything we have read, I don't beleive it is reasonable to expect girls to "audition" for free.

The idiots have ruined it for the good guys. Don't take it out on the girls!

I don't expect to be paid for an audition either (I wasn't implying that at all) my question was whether auditioning in a hotel was safe or not if you dont know much about the company.
I would never foul mouth a company I knew nothing about and to Robert Sinclair who emailed me saying cumpact are going to sue me??????? WHY???????? I haven't said anything slanderous about the company and I was approached from someone callled mike on a yahoo email address, the details were told to me over the phone (found via my net model profile)
The porn industry is a great fun one when you work with the right people but there are people out there, both models and photographers alike who will try their luck, we've all had a bad experience somewhere havent we? A no -show from a model, a photographer wanting extras etc.
I was just utilising the board to suss the job out before putting myself in any unnecessary danger.
Do I not have the right to do that Robert?

Legit audition or scam audition is the issue, not whether auditions are wrong or right.

The audition company in question do not supply anything to back up their claims that they are legit, surely they must have something of credibilty to back them up rather than using yahoo or hotmail accounts, a web site, references, a land line No? a business address? - not a thing but a mobile No and a hotel address.

Is there any wonder people think it smells of scam? myself included.

In Katalins case I am still dubious without hearing all the facts, have they supplied her with enough evidence they are legit? I really think the only way i'll be convinced is when I know whether someone has had a succesful audition with them, but who's going to risk it with such patchy details? I bloody wouldnt if it were me!

Anyway, look forward to seeing if this turns out scam or real ;o)

Basically they get away with it because there are a lot of naive girls out there, Sarah Louise asked this time but has clearly been scammed many times in the past.

Katalin, solo or not and even if they are paying your expenses (but presumably not your companions!), if they can't actually offer you any real paying work what's the point of even going? your just going to be giving some guy/guys a cheap thrill for the cost of a train ticket and totally waste your time and your friends. Do you need the work that badly that you are prepared to waste a day on something that 99.9% certainly is a complete scam???

Hi Sara-louise, we have been asked to arrange auditions for Cumpact .com who are the largest cable suppliers for home entertainment in the States. They are wanting to set up two TV stations to broadcast adult material. They will offer the following contract. It is a three month rolling contract paying each model between 250 - 350 per 4hr slot with a max of 4 shows per week. If they like a model their contract is rolled on for another 3mths and so on. The auditions will be in Man & Bir so please let us know asap as most of the slots have gone because this is viewed as a great opportunity for a model to be seen here and possible work in the States.
Please advise if you have a manager/agent also a contact number to discuss details. Are you able to e-mail some of your material, also how old are you?
