Try TVX, its never mentioned in this forum, but I'd say they are the "Channel 4" of porn stations, they are adventurous and are willing to try new formats. People will scream that I work for them, but it is for this reason that I do.
Theres more to erotica on TV than getting to see a millisecond of hardcore, accidentally left in by an editor and then giggling and posting with delight like a 12 year old schoolboy thats seen something he shouldn't.

David,

Re the Adult Channel:

it's a lot more than 'a millisecond of hardcore, accidentally left in by an editor'. They've been showing close up shots of labia, clitoris and vaginas, held open vaginas, finger penetrating vagina and anus, sex toys penetrating vaginas - and not brief glimpses but extended sequences.

Question is will you be following suit?

Otherwise Pauls advice about waiting to see how it pans out before subscribing holds good - and within that TVX certainly shouldn't be considered if you're still following the old guidelines.

(And i dont work for any channel).

Cheers, Mike.

Forget TVX it is not showing anything remotely hardcore. As for TVX2 it should be labelled ugly fat birds tv. Strange that David Lever produces quite a bit of their softcore.................

TVX are the only company not pushing the barriers, Xplicit, Tantalise and TAC/PBTV are all showing much harder stuff than TVX. I wonder if David can tell us why? Is it a management decision or would an expensive re-editing of their shows be needed? Just curious.........

Heathray, please can you elaborate concerning Tantalise? I havn't heard anything about the station recently so an update would be very useful (types of content dates seen etc)

David, "Theres more to erotica on TV than getting to see a millisecond of hardcore? yes there is but ... hardcore has an important part to play and without it you are operating with one hand tied behind your back. As Cosine said we are not talking about one millisecond here. Have you watched any of the hardcore content on the other channels? If not I would advise it so you can at least see what the opposition are doing.

As a campaigner in this area one of the big problems I face is getting anything sensible out of the adult service providers as to what they are doing and why. They all seem to have two goals in mind - claiming they are the best and fighting amongst themselves. As soon as anyone starts asking any difficult to answer questions they usually fall silent. Case in point the recent content shuffling exercise by Playboy WHY? No response whatsoever.

In my opinion when the petty restrictions have gone the real work will start and your comment will become highly relevant. In the mean time some questions for you:

Will TVX be showing any hardcore content inline with the other channels within the next few weeks?

In view of your comments would TVX consider remaining a softcore channel even when R18 content is deregulated by Ofcom later this year?

Will TVX be taking part in Ofcom?s public consultation over broadcasting standards in the summer?

Do you have the email address of anyone at TVX who might be interested in discussing what is happening in the market at the moment?

Sorry, but I can't answer any of your questions, it wouldn't be my place to do so.
But it appears from this forum, that creative content means absolutely nothing, all that matters is that you can see a labia, or clit or a dick. No wonder porn does not progress anywhere. I must admit I'm tempted to disappear back into the shadows away from this forum, 'cause its just too depressing, thinking maybe all the thought I expel is worthless, when all u have to do is show a bit of genitalia, and then all is well, certainly with u lot.Who gives a fuck about context,is the girl smiling etc................as long as u can see her bits. Its pathetic.
Luckily you lot r NOT representative of the thousands of subcribers who sign up year after year to TVX.

No David seeing 'labia, or clit or a dick' is not 'all that matters'. But excuse me for wanting pornography which embodies the qualities you value and that also manages to be vaguely pornographic. I'm:
pissed off with oral sex scenes which are one long shot of the back of a womans head,
pissed off with seeing labia shots that are like looking down the wrong end of a pair of binoculars,
pissed off with sex scenes which consist of one long shot of the blokes arse and make me think I'm watching the Gay channel by mistake
and pissed off with the laddish preening narcissistic homoerotica of garbage like Neil Down.

I do want context , I do want the girl smiling , I do want imagination and creativity AND I want some shots of her genitalia - again, excuse me for thinking womens genitals can be attractive, erotic and very sexy when shot well, eg Viv Thomas.

As to the thousands who sign up for TVX every year they do so on the basis that 'the most explicit action on British TV... gets much hotter and harder after encryption' Even your bosses seem to realise the viewers want explicit sex and realising they're offering pathically tame material lock their subscribers into a 12 month contract - nothing like confidence and pride in the quality of your product !

Lastly David, twice you've come onto this forum and firstly we were a bunch of twelve year olds and now we're a pathetic bunch just wanting pussy shots I'm sorry your life resulted in you being David Lever and not Stanley Kubrick, I'm sorry all your creativity is not being valued or appreciated, and I'm sorry you're pissed off with porn.

But mostly I'm sorry you're so hostile to us because a producer who is willing to come on and engage in constructive dialog about what we want to see on these channels, and engage in an exchange of ideas, would be much appreciated and the results hopefully mutually beneficial.

Thank you for at least coming onto the forum and expressing your point of view.

Cheers, Mike.

I can't understand why you all hate TVX, all they are doing is acting within the law. I'm sure if the laws relaxed they wouldn't give a toss about transmitting hardcore. The reason I get frustrated, is that I have learnt through the discipline of making softcore (in my case hardcore shot soft) that hardcore can be made much more potent. I've learnt that a soft show can in many cases be more erotic than hardcore, (for me anyway) because I will linger much more on, legs, bottoms, stocking tops, smiles, gasps, walking etc. It has aided me in making my hard programmes, because i will now incorporate a certain amount of teasing etc.
I've never wanted to be Stanley Kubrick, or be appreciated, the only point I was making is that a genital shot in itself does not make something erotic. Look at Private films, why are they so boring? They've everything thats required for porn, beautiful blondes, greasy studs, beaches,DP's etc etc, but its like watching paint dry, why? I have no idea, maybe because its porn by numbers, In my shows I deliberately, de-rail the plot in unexpected places just to stop the "porn by numbers" syndrome occuring.
I also hate the "Lads"" wey hey hey" "ello darling" school of porn, I mean it was shit, even when it was done in "Confessions of a Window Cleaner" and they're still churning it out. It seems to be the definitive vehicle for British porn. Anyway I was only pissed off 'cause it was 4.00am when I wrote the post and I wanted to get to bed!

Chill David,

What we are getting at is TVX is playing it too safe. It must get some serious mileage out of the repeats of Superdick, Omar etc etc. All tame, all laddish crap as you call it. TVX is run by men who pander only to the dirty mac, porn is for perverts brigade.

What the public, men and women want is high quality, erotic, explicit shows with nice settings not the grubby midden that Extreme Close Up is filmed in a ?10 a throw.

Strange how most of the most beautiful girls are on TAC/Playboy?

If TVX doesn't watch it will be left behind in the dark ages of gonzo.

Hi David,

Three posts up this thread I felt insulted, I'm glad I didn't respond straight away. I then read Cosines' post and he pretty much sums up how I feel. Well put Cosine. I then read your last post and you are now forgiven. I have no problem with softcore at all if shot and edited correctly, some of my favourite Dvd's are softcore.

I would like to say;

Firstly, I don't know what material you are responsible for so I cannot comment on it directly.

Secondly, I have recently subscribed to TAC, Playboy and Fantasy channels. I have seen Lesbian hardcore on TAC and no hardcore at all on either of the others. I only watch 2 / 3 times a week so I may have missed some.

Thirdly, my own tastes are nearly summed up in what Cosine said, and more so in what you said about your material. So can you explain why I rate Fantasy channel as my least favourite of the three?

My scores out of 10 based on the last 3 weeks personal viewing;

TAC.... 8/10.
Playboy.... 6.5/10.
Fantasy.... 4/10 on a good day. (This is not aimed at you because I don't know which programmes are yours).

I agree with Cosine that it would be great to give feedback to someone like yourself, so there is my feedback.
