I agree with Marino, this whole 'knee jerk' reaction to the news from the States has just been blown out of all proportion! I mean HELLO, is everybody that fucking stupid that they didn't realise the risks have always been there! Nothing has changed in the UK industry in the past few months and in the 17 years I've been in this industry I've NEVER heard of a single case of HIV caught in this country!
The bottom line is this, if performers want to wear condoms that's their choice. If they lose work because of it, again it's their choice. If performers want 30 day tests, again it's their choice, but I don't feel they should be 'black listed' by some of the industries 'so called' professionals if they continue working as normal.
If producers or performers feel this is unacceptable, then this business will start to tear it's self apart.
The ONLY solution: FREEDOM OF CHOICE! No one can be MADE to do anything they don't want to in this industry and NO ONE should try and impose their opinions on any one else! If you want to start doing that then fuck off to the middle east and discover what freedom of choice is really all about!

Hi darling ! been silently observing the last couple of days, contenplating what to do. i am in agreement with the suggestions you've made and i think most of the others are to jugging by what i've read and the calls i've had from some performers and producers, i hope that a meeting can be arranged to discuss this issue and that ALL concerned do there upmost to attend as its easy to missinterpret the written word or express opinions while remaining annonimus. i've already declined work and for the time being will continue to do so i will see out my booking comitments if the producers conceed to shoot with condoms and hope that we can return to business as usual in the near future though adhearing to a tighter regulated code of conduct.

Take it from me condoms don't affect sales as our first film as gone head to head with all last years releases coming out on top a lot of the time, with the US in turmoil at the moment Britain as never had it so good so make the most of it wear condoms even until you've all had 2 tests. Once getting used to them some companies might even adopt policies to wear them or not.

My only involvement in the porn industry is as a viewer, but i think its better for everyone to follow Alicia's lead for the next two months. Yes we all like to watch films without condoms, but for the sake of 2 months isn't it in everybody's interests to wear them. I'd much rather still see the likes of Alicia, Faye etc in films for years to come rather than them putting their lives at risk for the sake of 2 months.

For what it's worth I agree totally with a 'condoms-only' stance. It might help get the message across to people outside porn that it's a good idea too.

In regard to porn, whenever I hear the word 'performers' i always think of the big top circus music.

Recklessness, greed and delusion has led to this. The girl who tested positive was 18 and doing a double anal two months after starting. By the time she was 28 she'd probably by gangbanging entire cities.

Unless the actress/actor as mouth sores/bleeding gums etc its almost impossible to catch as they say you need 5 gallons of the stuff orally to chance getting HIV as the acids in the body take care of it.
