I am not a fan. Just pointing out a necessary acknowledgement.
R18 would have come anyway? Who exactly would have cause to promote legal hardcore? Who would of had the resources to fight a legal case? Seeing as Mr rip-off had and is one of the biggest users of the BBFC (in the adult field) I can't really see who else would have the money to fight a case. ALthough you could say he didn't fight it on principle but to make money.

Yes indeed, who needs R18? USA is cheaper, with Holland being an airtrip away. Overseas importation must be the only viable option for porn lovers. ?28 for a dvd? What stupid ass would pay that sort of money? A wider choice of product and not a filtered/butchered semi-comatose 'British product'.

R18 makes it a lot easier to order from abroad than it was before.

I am not from DS's outfit and as usual, Guys like you only tell half the story. I have the greatest respect for people like Ben Dover (including DS) etc and know the only reason we have R18 today is due to 'retailers' like these people pushing the boundries to bring us in line with European standards.

DS has probably done more than most in pushing the boundries in all aspects of the adult industry and has spent alot of his time in court, just like Ben Dover. There are many aspects to the adult business and there is only so much each individual can do.
I wonder if you personally would have half the guts to do what he does on an almost daily basis....

If you did your homework you would also find out alot of us wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the help from DS over the years.

I have been a big fan of the BGFAD and make the time to read the posts to see what people want. It is a real shame when people like yourself can't respond with an intelligent post which ends up slagging off someones dress sense..

Your parents must be very proud...

Mr Tantalise,

I?m happy to confirm that I have done my homework, which means I?m in an excellent position to confirm that the DS ?dog and pony show? is still happy to shamelessly skank the punters in a quest to keep it?s diminutive Chairman in Zebra striped home furnishings.

Just respond to any of the free DVD offers in the Sport and a world of mailing list skulduggery is unleashed. Namely: can?t send you the smut we promised guv, unless of course you send photocopies of your passport, this is purely a legal thing you understand, just so we can make sure the youth aren?t corrupted by the sight of jiggling knockers.

The ?mark? is understandably reluctant to send a copy of their driving licence or passport, so the organisation gets to pocket the postage fee. Strangely enough however, Planet Sullivan has no qualms about sending thick envelopes packed with sexually explicit advertising as soon as your name appears on the mailing list?

[paragraph deleted by mod]

Any idea that DS is some kind of UK equivalent to Larry Flint and has devoted his life to fighting our laughable obscenity laws is a revisionist reading of history which would make David Irving blush.

Which reminds me, before anyone shouts libel, here?s some suggested reading:

The Sultan of Sleaze: David Sullivan?s Sex and Media Empire
Mark Kilick (Penguin Books) ISBN: 0140238638

A short but illuminating trawl through the business interests and legal hassles of the dwarfish smut svengalia written by a former television journalist.

Come Play with Me: The Life and Film of Mary Millington
Simon Sheridan (FAB Press) ISBN: 0952926075

Beautifully researched, written and lovingly designed cultural history of the 70?s sex industry, which features interviews with the man himself.

your post has been partially edited for possibly libellous remarks.

we haven't read the mark kilick book, therefore it has no bearing upon this decision which has been made in accordance with section 3.9 of the faq.
