h/c 4 rent? what's the score?

just a question to you guys in the biz - now it is (just about) legal to purchase h/c vids from licenced premises, what is the deal with rental?
i of course don't expect to see anything in Blockbuster (i can dream tho!), but is there anything to stop the sex shops renting out vids?

this whole "exchange" system sucks. yes, they could rip us off further, but i see rental as the way fwd. are there any moves afoot in this direction?

This questions been asked before, do a search, the primary reason, sex shops wouldn,t do rental (imho) is -: they make too much money from selling, if they did rental, someone would just rent 5/6/7 films, copy them, and sell them. depriving lil David from his millions....

for sure this is already happening & has been for years well here in Edinburgh anyway.

Renting is widely available in the USA, there is so much material there so I think that helps combat the piracy. Also I think to copy PAL to PAL is easy, but NTSC to NTSC is a ballache.
I think the way forward here is for producers who want their products seen by a bigger market IS to release rental copies, but encrypted like Disney do to theirs to stop them being copied. Sarah Young originals are famed for being encrypted when attempting to duplicate.......which of course, NONE of us do!!

i lived in germany for over a year, and regularly rented porn.
the thought of copying honestly never entered my head. i think if the law allows for it, there is a LOT of money to be made in rental. i would personally pay a fiver to rent a dvd for 3 nights.

come on you entrepeneurs - start a trend!!

just to fill you guys in, i am currently in the process of building a website for this very purpose.

We should hopefully have the site in place within the next two months as we are a bit unsure as to copyright etc.

We should hopefully be bringing you British dvd's along with european and US dvd depending on demand.

I've been doing the Private thing for a couple of months. Works very well. The quicker you watch them the more you get.
