You shouldn't define a site for every folder.

A defined site can have infinite number of folders within it. When you define your site within Dreamweaver you have to specify a root folder, which will be the top level of your site and should contain your index.html page. Whatever is within the root is part of the site.

Example site structure:

| Root Folder | (contains index.html)

| Members| | Images | | Galleries |

The "members", "images" and "galleries" folders are in the root directory, and are sub-directories of the root folder. They are part of the site so you don't need to define them as sites on their own.

When you come to upload your files via ftp, just browse through the folders on the remote server and upload the files from the corresponding folders on your PC.

Yeah, that's right.

every folder can have a index.html. What you need to do Kariana is create a directory structure. I have a feeling you trying to put everything in the root folder? which is why you confused about having 2 index.html files?

The idea is to build your site on your PC, the when you upload via ftp you site should mirror the structure you created.

C:\Windows\Desktop\Karianas Site\index.html
C:\Windows\Desktop\Karianas Site\members\index.html

when you come to upload this will be:

http://www.karinacurrie.com/index.html
http://www.karinacurrie.com/members/index.html

does that make sense? two files of the same name can't exist in the same folder, your members index.html should be in the members folder.
