I have set up a forum/message board specifically for models/producers who are looking for jobs/talent.
This is only a test at present and wont be going live until I consider it a good idea or not.
Any tips/suggestions greatfully welcomed, as are any good ideas on how I could tighten up the forum security-wise.
you can find it here :

What do you mean by security ?
I don't know how the scripts that run that programme work but.. When someone registers but are they automatically sent to the forum after or do you check them out first ? If the form asks for a valid URL and email address then you might keep a few of the idiots away. I'm sure that you can delete posts you're not happy with and I can't think of anything else. I know moderating surfers is a pain but it can make for a better forum.
Just my 2 cents

when someone registers, yes, they are taken straight to the board.
I have already modified the scripts so that casual (unregistered) surfers cannot see the email and url links for members.
they also cannot post.
as moderator I can delete individual posts, and apparantly also block by email and ip address

moderating is the ONLY way of ensuring a decent, functional environment. registration has it's uses but amounts to nothing more than a virtual speed bump when it comes to controlling abusive elements.
as the ossifer would say - this is a 100% bona fide, scientifically verified truth which only a complete madman would seek to deny!
