I'm finally looking to get all my filth online, and so need webhosting.

As I'm clueless about this (hosting),any suggestions as to specific companies, and what to look out for\what to avoid?

I'll need about a gig of space.

Peter, the actual webspace is cheap as chips. It's the bandwidth you need to account for. You'll have to work out how much bandwidth you'll need, going on the size of the files you're offering and the visitors you plan to receive each month.

Have a look round at various companies plans, you may find that in order to get 1GB of space you have to order more bandwidth than you actually require, therefore you'll have to email the companies in question to come up with a quote. He are some well known, reliable hosts that I have listed:

http://www.choopa.com
http://www.isprime.com
http://swiftwill.com

If you're not offering huge files and expecting huge amounts of the traffic then no doubt you'll require "virtual hosting". Which basically means you site will be hosting on a server with others. This is the cheapest and most popular form of hosting.

Be careful who you sign up with, there are tons of companies out there so it helps to ask around forums and webmaster boards for referals.

good luck

Mark

Can't add anything to Mark's excellent post, other than to say I've had some stuff hosted @ ISPrime for a while & can highly recommend them.

Check out , they'll make sure you get the package you need at the best price :)

If I were you I wouldn't just jump in to the adultwebmaster business and start paying for your hosting/credit card transaction account as making money out of Adult sites is hard work and takes time.

You need to establish all kinds of link trades with other popular sites, get your site listed on the search engines and then hope your 'customers' find you and like the site...and then get them to actually pay to access your members area! It's not easy and if your paying for your hosting/bandwith/credit card transaction account your costs will soon run up!

Your best bet is to use an AVS system if your starting out. http://www.proadult.com is a well respected AVS system, they offer free domain hosting (unlimited disk space/unlimited bandwith) and they handle all the money side of things for you so you don't even need to pay for a credit card transaction account. It's a great way of getting into this business without having to pay all the costs. If your site is successful then if you want you could transfer your site to your own hosting and get your own credit card account knowing full well your site should at least pay the bills.

1st of all if your content is adult and I mean even topless then don't look at UK hosts.. For some unknown reason they don't like it :)

Here's another host to look at who I've used for a few years. They have a package for around $25 a month which is ok and they only charge $5 for an extra 100Mb of storage. I was with as well until I discovered that they charge $1 a Mb for extra storage and my bill for $60 a month hit $270 as I'd uploaded a load of new content. That's what you have to be aware of as well as the charges for exceeding your monthly band width.

Be wary of using packages that are very cheap as they will load to many domains on the server and your site will be very slow. I can say that I have quite a few sites at HB and as I specialise in Premium avs sites they aren't too slow at all as HB liimit the domains on a server.

I've also got a couple of pay sites at and they run quite fast as well but this is a $100 a month package with 1 Gig of storage and 40 Gig traffic.

As for getting started.. What programme are you using to design your site etc ? If you need any help please email me. I'm no expert but due to my ineptness I'm good at helping newbies.. I talk basic English.

Before you start at any avs I'd look at these:

and as these are the best known what I call REAL AVS. They tell surfers the cost up front unlike many of the so call FREE AVS which have a hidden cost of $39 - $150 to the surfer which is how they can make a higher pay out to the webmaster. Even some of us pornmiesters have morals and I don't believe in screwing the surfer.

When looking at the various avs you must look at other sites in the category you're thinking of adding your site to. If there are too many then chances of a sale from their own links list will be minimaL. for help from many pro's in the biz you can always post a question or two hundred at:

Also.. You'll need to make a few galleries to promote your site on tgp's and links lists. You'll need to optimise your site for the search engines.. Basically there's a lot more to it than just building a site and then waiting for the money to roll in....

I hope that helps you a little.

i use

they have a novel approach to charging, i.e. you only pay for what you use.
minimum payments are $15/month.
their support has been great so far.

Paul - this is yours isnt it - .... do you not think you're pushing your luck by completely ripping off an established site ()?

Youve already been caught ripping off graphics from Viv Thomas's site ... now youve copied another design in it's entirety... way to go :/

Try this company

There based in the UK have up to date severs and are a good bunch of guys. I pay a monthly fee for my own dedicated server which includes all the tech back up i need....they will bend over backwards to help.

Hand Job Heaven is hosted on there servers....and i have no complaints.

If you need any help feel free to drop me a line.

Mick Handy

PS .... don't go down the AVS system route.
