Looks like using a VPN is the easiest route. Not entirely sure how they work. Anyone got any advise. and recommendations as to which ones to use?

Option 1: Get yourself Opera browser which has a built in vpn - it's in the advanced settings and it's a while since i used it.

Option 2: Get yourself firefox browser. Once installed click on the menu option which is the three horizontal lines to the top right, click on add ons, search free vpn. I have three installed, set up vpn, hoxx vpn and pure vpn but there are more.

Option 3: Get yourself tor browser, you probably won't need a vpn with it.

If anyone else who understands vpn's will help me out I am willing to talk anyone and everyone through these whatever your questions. They are easy to use but there are advantages and disadvantages and there are things you need to know to keep your devices safe (always have an adblock for starters) and to make them work to their best for you.

If any of you install any of those options I listed above and you are thinking how can you tell if it's working or not NOW then here's the most basic test. Try to go to zippyshare.com through it. If you get there it's working as zippyshare has cut itself off from the UK. Without a vpn or tor you will simply get a forbidden 403 message with either functioning correctly you are straight in.

There are loopholes apparently, one being that if the porn content of a site is less than 1/3 of the total content of that site then age verification is not needed ?

Its a paid app but I've used VPNs for years when in hotels and coffee shops. I've even used it on a train when all you can do is use it to surf the web and read emails but streaming isn't usually aloud. So you can connect to trains wifi, connect to your vpn and do whatever you want on a journey. Its easy to install, then you just select the country you want to connect to, and click connect and thats it. Its like $75 for 2 years and you get up to 5 devices, including, desktops, phones or tablets.

I have heard from a few trusted sources (including a friend who is responsible for information security at a multi-national) that NordVPN is the one to go for if you want a paid for VPN service.

The age verification check itself does at least seem to be anonymous since it used blockchain technology. Will still be going for VPN option myself out of Libertarian principles, however I do have my own adult site so will need to deploy the AVC. It's a Wordpress site so there is a plugin option so shouldn't be tough to set up.
