production advice

Post by Hugh Asstronut »

Hey guys looking for some advice from a behind the camera point of view from those in the know.

Looking to start in the business purely from a filming point of view. On a budget would appreciate any feedback on what kind of camera that can do the job without breaking the bank and on what road to go down in terms of sites, legal info I need to know and have that kind of thing

Thanks guys

Assuming you're UK based, it's worth reading up on ATVOD to begin with on legal info. You'll also need model release forms with government issued ID e.g. a passport and/or driving licence.

Not wishing to come across as flippant but my ?80 camcorder I bought 3 or so years ago "can do the job" if my criteria don't call for good low light performance, good noise management or need an external microphone. You need to be much more specific about what the "job" and your requirements are.

Thanks for the response mate. Yeah got info on ATVOD over on AIR which is a big help of course one option is setting up over in Holland or the Czech republic to avoid these silly rules but it's a big call.

Comfortable on release papers and id etc was just curious what cameras were beaten by used in the main really

Well I have a ?3500 HD camera... and I have another that cost about ?350... it really depends what style your going to shoot...

It really is a hard slog these day's mate to be honest, if your going the route of setting up a website I wouldn't bother, unless it's real niche, like grannys throwing midgets into custard mixed with poo... that might just sell.

Clip sites like AW and Clips4Sale are pretty much the way forward... If your going to shoot real niche stuff then Clips4Sale is worth a go, if more Vanilla then AdultWork...

You can always look at the option of shooting to sell to other people... there is still a market for that if you can be competitive...

As puretotty said, the camera is your choice... I use a HD phone for clips, a canon 2K camera for main. Photos I use a canon ?350 camera.

The main choice is whether your going to shoot vanilla or something off the neck...

We shoot creampie & gangbang, hardcore & reality... it works.

If you want to sell it, it's adultwork or your main site needing traffic, so then you'll have to give some away on tubes to provide this.

Good luck bro, welcomed to mail anytime.
