Thanks to all at APN for setting up the meeting yesterday, it was very interesting seeing the new technology that is available regarding age verification.
It would be good to see APN work with the AV companies to create a group of services and bring around a fair price for this extra service and work on ATVOD to change their rules which clearly work against the UK adult industry.
Good luck for the future.

Hey Jason,
huge thanks- really appreciate the kind words, and good to have a (sadly cut short) chat last night on the tube.
The whole point of founding the body in the first place is simple. To try and bring about change for the good of our industry. Positive action to benefit all. It really is as simple as that.
Regulation is here to stay and its just a sad fact that we're all going to have to deal with. We have to make the best of it by helping each other out, sharing of expertise and costs, and maximize income potential through collaboration. All of this *CAN* be done while keeping minors out of the way of explicit content.
Group hug anyone?
Your point yesterday about pushing AV providers towards bringing down costs is a wholly supported one and was a key reason for bringing them together in the first place. Rasmus' Veridu seems the most positive and forward thinking solution I've seen so far IMHO.
We'll be sending round a debrief of sorts to those who attended in due course and would very much welcome your input and feedback.
Thanks again, and no doubt see you again in Sept at the Xbiz!

Hey guys, although I wasnt there I wasnt shunning the event even though Im outspoken in my opposition to it. I simply couldnt make it
Unlike some negative minded individuals I dont see you guys as the enemy at all and in a way, fighting on the opposite sides of the table maybe a good thing.
Ultimately we are all in the same boat
I only give Chris Ratcliffe a hard time because he keeps banging the drum in favour of ATVOD, regulation and filtering like he is the only one trying to be responsible
Any businessman in this business wants to be responsible but between ATVOD regulation, ISP filtering and age verification it just looks like a cynical plan to fleece the porn biz (if thats what we can call it) out of more money while not doing one damn thing about the problem of minors seeing porn on the internet.
Maybe its for the best I wasnt there then. Sitting there quietly and listening to guys talking about how much theyre charging for AVS would just wind me up.
Seriously guys, do you think people will put their details in to get porn and risk being put on a government database filed under "wankers"
I think this is the tipping point for free porn to go liquid the day age verification comes in.
Remember what happened in Berlin years ago when AVS came in? Berliners told me at Venus it was like Pornogeddon over night. The beauty of having a wank on the internet is the privacy element to the consumers activity.
Given the various departments in the government ie NHS handling of sensitive data I can understand the consumers distrust to put their personal information in this expensive option.
Another unworkable option with a flawed regulator and a crap filter system that has done more harm than good. I'm struggling to see Chris Ratcliffes excited enthusiasm for it.
