I hope to be there and give my support...

I expect you have allready done so but if not you should contact Scotland Yard and inform them of this protest with brief details, they will then give you a reference number so if the police turn up they cannot say you are holding an illegal gathering, from previous experience of being involved in protest this only takes a few minutes to do by phone and can save a lot of hassle later.

Don't forget to bring some banners and maybe some face paint, it's always best if a protest takes on a carnival atmosphere rather than an agressive one !happy!

The police have been informed and S&C are working with them and have stewards in place. It is good to see the industry doing this the correct way and showing these strange people we are not a mad crazy bunch.

How the fuck did we allow this country to reach a state of affairs where one has to get the permission of the police, effectively the government, to protest?

Actually, to protest in the way that we are at the location we are we do not technically require permission. However, it is 'advised' by the Metropolitan Police service that we notify them - they are very willing to support legitimate and peaceful protests.

It works in our favour to let them know our intentions and as long as we all behave it will serve us well in the longer term as I'm sure this will not be the last time we have to don our banners, placards and t-shirts.

The only rules they insist on are basic common sense.

Apparently you do need a license to protest.

You cant just turn up with pitchforks, pick axes and molotov cocktails and out of commission scud missiles like they do in the Ukraine.
