Backstabbing...

Hi All,

So last night, just after saying how I'd only met nice people in the industry so far, some coward anonymously emails me twice with what I can only assume is a threat.

These were the emails...

From: Anonymous
to: james@insculpt.com
date: 11 December 2013 21:29
subject: ATVOD
Signed by: hoi-polloi.org
Body: expect to be hearing from them Oh simple one (-:

and

from: Nomen Nescio
to: james@insculpt.com
date: 11 December 2013 21:00
subject: ATVOD
Signed by: hoi-polloi.org
Body: expect to be hearing from them Oh simple one (-:

Both are "anonymous" remailer addresses.

And whilst the threat doesn't bother me in the slightest, I am just going to stop my website until further notice. I'll still enjoy the shoots, and producing videos, they'll just be kept in my private collection for now.

Thanks to those who contributed though.

James.

Interesting to note when someone on the forum can take the time and effort to snitch but not actively oppose the controls coming into place in January

Also the fact they have done it anonymously adds to the treachery of it all. It wouldnt surprise me if the person who has shopped you was on ATVODs radar otherwise why would they be so motivated to be so spiteful?

Maybe he wanted to be on at least one Christmas card list this year.

How would anyone end up on ATVODs radar? They don't strike me as being particularly bright. Isn't it a case that all companies on their radar have been snitched by someone?

Yeah I agree, just not sure where the spite comes from, who was I hurting? or was this some pro-censorship nut job who hangs around the forums like the idiots who sit watching tv in the hope of finding something to complain about?

Like you say though, the troll was obviously a pussy, world is full of them I guess. Can't change it so best to just move on =)

I'm keeping my site, just sticking to stills for now.

P.S. If I uploaded each frame of a 3 minute movie as individual jpgs (all 4500 of them) would I still be exempt from the "Video on demand" aspect? =)

I suspect that is the case, there are enough cowardly snitches out there to keep them busy I guess =)

Sad to hear your story, it's a sad sad world when people have to be so vindictive with no happiness in their own lives!

On a brighter note, why close your website, do as I have done, make it ATVOD friendly, your members can remain & your sales can still make.

Call me anytime for advice, I spoke direct with the ATVOD peeps, TBH, although controversial, they are nice people & give a bit of time when needed & all that stuff.
My numbers on any of our paysites. I'm in Bournemouth.

All the best with your filming & have a good Christmas bro!

@ OneEyed, yes mate, you could be right, under ATVOD radar or maybe had to close or has closed due to ATVOD so now being malicious... another thought.... A nasty bored twat anyway.

Thanks Arsewithclass, that's some solid advice there.

And it's something I would happily do if I was making any money, or even planned to make money on this project. But my site was almost a personal one. where I documented the shoots I was having, outlining the good and bad things I encountered and of course gave away the videos for free!.

I was already running at a loss due to the fact that I have no ads or any other revenue making stream at all. so every shoot cost me money and the monthly hosting bills and domain names soon add up too. The thought of adding in registration fees for atvod and some form of adult verification scheme etc would probably prevent me from affording another model ever again =)

That said I think I will pen them a tentative email just to see exactly would be required if I decided to re-host my videos, after all there's no harm that could come of it, if there is no way to do it free then I'm in the same position I'm in now.

And a further massive thank you for the kind offer of further advice, I've had many emails and messages of support since posting this thread, I guess I shouldn't let one bad apple spoil the bunch, the overwhelming response from people here is positive.

I checked your sites and besides loving them, I noticed you still have "porn" on the non-members area, albeit softcore, IE nude and no erections or penetrations. If that's all it takes then I am happy to do that, I only shoot solo stuff anyway, and am more than happy to just limit it to tease kinda stuff.

Other than not being reported to ofcom, are there any advantages to being atvod registered?

Many thanks again
James.
