Today, we sent a letter regarding a planned conference on child protection, to be held in London on December 12.

As atvod is an empire building organisation whose raison d'etre is censorship, good luck with that one Jerry.

Totally agree with you Andy.

Of course, they are selecting their speakers to fit in with their overall agenda so would be very unlikely to have any speakers that would counter it.

Jerry has got my vote by virtue of opposing this debate with an intelligent and reasoned letter

As it looks, the meeting is a forgegone conclusion and hardly a level playing field for debate on such a controversial topic

Kinda reminds me of Hitlers Germany. The great dictators way of getting the majority vote was to eradicate the competition from sight.

Feels like we are becoming like China every day

The adult industry does not oppose child protection with its business practices.

Contrary to popular belief, many of us in the business have famillies. be it children or relatives we do not want exposed to adult material but the adult industry (or am I speaking for myself here?) oppose the actions of ATVOD for trying to enforce its will on our business and its consumers with a mechanism that was already in place and working quite well already for years

The method they are trying to deploy is simply not workable and will not benefit the protection of minors when it can be easily circumvented so whats the point of it?

I think a better analogy would be that a foreign car entering the UK would not be covered by the laws and rules applying to vehicles and their drivers registered here. This would be doubly apposite because in the same way that such alien vehicles would not be exempt, Johnson wants regulations affecting British based porn sites to be extended extra-territorially to cover foreign sites over which he cant yet extend his fatuous organisation's remit. Just before all porn is banned by him and his puritannical allies it would not surprise me if they inform foreign web sites that they must pay atvod fees to be allowed past the great fire-wall he wants to erect. Of course all this would happen without any evidence, other than anecdotal, being provided to show it was necessary.
